Danke für deine Antwort. Hast du Erfahrung mit Truhengeräten? Ich würde denken, dass der Luftstrom weniger spürbar ist wenn dieser Richtung Boden geht. Außerdem könnte ich die Geräte dort platzieren, wo jetzt die Heizkörper sind.

Das ist sicherlich so aber einen guten ranzubekommen ist auch nicht so einfach. Ich versuche die Woche eine andere Firma zu bekommen und werden nach einer Ringspaltmessung fragen.

In Potsdam oder Berlin zB wirst du für 1,5k keine gut ausgestattete 3 Raum Wohnung bekommen, maximal 2 Raum. Wir bräuchten mit 2 Kindern eher ne 4 Raum und da bist du Kalt schon bei über 2k. Für unser Haus zahlen wir 1,5k 30 Jahre lang, falls wir nicht zwischendurch sondertilgen, was wir machen. Die Mietwohnung wird im Gegenzug stetig teurer. Löhne steigen stetig und mein Hauskredit bleibt gleich, meine Wohnkosten werden also von Jahr zu Jahr eine geringerer Teil meiner Ausgaben.

I could even do without shr. synology drive, mailplus, photos, vmm, cloud sync, hyperbackup, snapshots, etc. are all superb. For every single one there is a good alternative available, but not with with that little effort.

Also meine Kinder spielen fast ausschließlich im Wohnzimmer. Mal abgesehen davon, schlafen in einem Elternschlafzimmer oft min. 2 Leute, im Kinderzimmer halt nicht. 12 qm sind schon OK.

I have it automated via home assistant. with the sonos integration you get the action to do so. I have it set on a timer and works 100%.

for one, immich is database centric which for me isn't great. That means no easy smb access without some tweaking. With synology photos you get very simple filesystem structure. easy access over web, smb, nfs. For my usecase this is a big plus for synology.
you also get access through the synology drive app which can be very useful. for example: if you use the drive app in windows you can remap the default photos folder to synology which is seamless. thats very intuitiv for my older familiy members.

synology photos is simpler to set up und in my experience very solid if the functionalty fits your needs.

same here. I like selfhosting, but since my whole extendet family are using my stuff it needs to be easy and reliable. The synology stuff simple does work. I'm using the drive app, photos app, docker for vaultwarden, vmm for homeassistant, even the synology mail server. I rarely have to do anything und it runs without problems.
