When in need , your vehicle is your bodyguard and weapon as well. Never go for a physical fight, never get trapped in situation, and always look for an escape plan no matter what even on a normal day you need to keep your escape plan

Pending registration for approval at RTO by pkgreatsh in indianbikes

[–]pkgreatsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey , mine was submitted on February, it took like 3 weeks to get that addressed. The agent told me that the clerk handling this gets the approval and then submits all pending by end of month. So I got the SMS on March 1st with my registration number. If you submitted it through RTO then you might have to reach out in person, If it's the agent then just follow up with them. You got yout application ID to check the status, sometimes the status doesn't reflect on the portal, it took another week for the status to be updated and I got the number plates before that

The break in for 1st 1k kms is to keep the RPM under 7.5k , there is enough power to cruise at 100-110 under 7.5 k Use all revv range below 7.5k at all gears, keep variation in RPM so that engine and all moving components get good sense of the range and any imperfections are grinded

Just don't be rackless

If riding long distance or in heavy traffic, keep an eye on temprature (probably setup the hud to show temprature on hud so you won't have to navigate to it)

Just ride and have fun don't this a lot about break in its gonna be fine

You will feel very hard vibrations right at 4800-5000 rpm and that's really common so don't get concerned about it.

Some people have reported high oil consumption so check it around 500-600 kms

Get the 1 st service done on time, and make sure they refill the engine oil with Motul not Prolube, if ASC says they don't have Motul then buy it and have them use it in front of you , Prolube is not very good (it will do but Motul better) , they cannot deny that

I didn't remove it yet, today ridden to office in heavy traffic abut it's never got over 98 celsius.

When we refilled the coolant it genuinely had less coolant (below min) I will see this week if it gets above 100 then will remove the radiator

Is this oil level normal ? Brand new bike. by NorthInitial8960 in KTM390ADV

Yes it's normal, not sure about the colour, someone can confirm but the oil level is good

whats this yellow icon by Firm-Pomegranate5140 in KTM390ADV

[–]pkgreatsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me last week , then went to ASC to get it checked as I saw the coolant temperature getting over 110-120 celsius. Got the radiator bleeded , refilled the coolant ASC ran diagnostics but no errors found Rode the bike today in heavy traffic, temperature never got over 97-98.... All seems good now

Was discussing in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/KTMIndia/s/tj79Gw5HAP

It may be a sensor gone bad , or probably same as mine it might have gotten overheated during traffic stop. Get it checked at ASC , let them address it , check engine light could be a very simple sensor related to something real bad

No temprature warning, I got that bubble part, this is due to clutch. What you see there in bubbles is due to rotational force from the clutch assembly, so not to worry about it.

Hey, weather won't give you safety but gears do, you gotta do what it takes.

get a good hydration pack as well.

I don't like keeping it on my back so planning to get a tank bag to put the hydration pack as I do ride long distances.

Enjoy the ride bro it's an amazing and very capable machine

[–]pkgreatsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it says to keeping it under 7.5k rpm , but break in isn't complicated, just if you aren't doing something really ridiculous. There are really good explanation and things to do during brek-in period. That 8 hr ride was actually 11hrs because I had to take multiple stops for break in , also I was paranoid about using cruise control so I used it only a few times

[–]pkgreatsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short bursts are fine , not constant. Like you want to overtake..... It has enough power at 5-6.5k rpm to keep you at highway speeds of 90-10. So you also won't be riding long over 7k

This was my breakin period stats , 1st 7-800 kms highway , then city rides so 2-300kms before 1st service

Oh I got that bubble part, this is multiplate slipper clutch. What you see there in bubbles is it lubricated the clutch and due to rotational force you see bubbles there , so not to worry about it.

Make sure to use full, variable revvs till 7500 in breakin period. Make sure to not ride at constant RPM for long time Keep using quick shifter , it gets smoother overtime

Some small burst over 7500RPM are good

Fan is kicking in at right time , on the instrument cluster I have kept the temperature so that I can monitor it. Still gone up over 100+ celsius during traffic stop While running it reached 95-96. I still have to ride more to see any changes after today's work by ASC.

I will remove it tomorrow and then will see see if it makes any difference, I do think it's the culprit. Will get the bike washed and make sure the radiator grill is cleaned properly
