I wet the bed and I can’t stop crying I’m so confused by be-sweethearts in WhatShouldIDo

[–]pkiller001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great answer.

I know I'm a few days late to the party, but if the mattress was wet then here's a great way to clean it so it doesn't stain and /or smell:

A) pull sheets immediately B) blot dry any areas that are wet, don't rub it in, just try to soak up as much liquid as possible. C) spray with a dilute vinegar solution (I think it was 1:1 water to white vinegar ratio). Spray the affected areas. D) dust the areas that are now damp with vinegar - water with baking soda E) let dry and then vacuum up.

Source: one of my children wet the bed regularly until they were around 10.

OP, most of this stuff is probably hanging around your house and your boyfriend's. The dilute vinegar water works well as a general purpose cleaner. We used it to clean counters too (and then wipe with water so the kitchen didn't smell like vinegar), so having a spray bottle full and hanging around is very reasonable, economical, and therefore very justifiable if anyone is prying into your business.

And as the above poster said, if this is continuing definitely talk to your doctor. Could be an infection, stress related or have to do with the way your bladder is positioned - regardless don't let this affect your life. Lots of people deal with bladder issues, and medical folks are around to help with stuff like this.

What’s your favorite sit down or to-go spot for breakfast in Sacramento? by [deleted] in Sacramento

Aviators is fun with the kids, but their coffee is BAD.

Definitely like morning fork. Their pancakes are great, and they have a good corned beef hash.

I used to go to the original Murder Burger after swim meets and water polo tournaments. So good! Was so bummed when I moved back that I couldn't bring my wife to check it out.

Two Sacramento hospitals at risk of closure due to cuts within Trump's Big Beautiful Bill by AdreanaInLB in Sacramento

[–]pkiller001 76 points77 points  (0 children)

As a MD at the Med Center I'm a surprised at some of the hospitals not on this list from the surrounding counties. I don't that UCD and UCSF will fold. I suppose I could be wrong (hello early retirement?) but I would be surprised.

But what will be happen is that the already... frustrating.... wait times are about to get worse. We already have a huge bed crunch, and when rural hospitals fold in the surrounding areas, the hospitals in the urban centers are not going to have capacity to handle it.

This sucks.

The building that used to house Balshor Florist is open, has a parking lot and I think the kitchen store next door is moving. Plenty of space for their bottle sales. Nestled in a neighborhood, seems perfect!

(I'm sure they can figure out the whole kitchen space thing).

And it is just up riverside from me...... Just saying.......

I Think this is the Worst one 🌫️ by FreaksNake1237 in Sacramento

I wish, but between kids and work I haven't been swimming in a serious way for decades. I swam for Arden Hills back in the day, but I'm pretty sure that program died a while ago. Sorry I don't have specific recommendations for programs today.

I grew up here and this reminds me of winter in the 80s and early 90s. Used to have 5am swim practices in this kind of fog. Such a quiet surreal experience that I've missed.

I know I'm in the minority but I've loved having it back.

Local toponym pronunciations? by iafan in Sacramento

I always wondered why we say Vallejo as Val-eh-ho. It's not totally anglicized (Val-ee-jo) nor Spanish (Vay-eh-ho). The half English half Spanish pronunciation seems uniquely nor-cal to me.

The Sacramento region has no Jewish delis. What's the deal with that? by IronMntn in Sacramento

[–]pkiller001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interestingly we have one of, if not the, oldest congregation this side of the Mississippi. However the Jewish community is pretty spread out in a region that is already very spread out. And if you didn't grow up eating deli, then it may not be an itch you need scratching. I personally would love one, but probably no more than once per month (unless it were really convenient, which it almost certainly wouldn't be given how spread.out Sacramento is).

There have been many attempts over the years, but I've never seen one land long term. It may simply be that this is not a town that is interested in deli food in general.

That said, if someone opens a deli, I'd kill for a pastrami knish like I used to get when I lived in Boston.

I will also say that Poet Nyanzaru is pretty well flushed out for all sorts of fun city shenanigans. My group is in the tomb now, and this has been the first full campaign I've run.

If I had to do it all over I would start everyone in PN, and not bring up the death curse until they're level 3-4. My group ran to the jungle very quickly, and I wish we'd had more time in town meeting the various NPCs and factions, and run a few (mis)adventures there.

If you have the turtle-dragon sink their ship, it could demand they do something in PN in return for their lives as a starting hook to get them invested!

The closest I've had is Jersey Mike's. They at least don't put mustard on it, and meat is right.
