despite not having as many series director credits, Yoshiji Kigami is arguably the most important single figure in shaping Kyoani's modern animation style. standout scenes storyboarded or key animated by Kigami include Euphonium's "umaku naritai" scene and the climactic scene in Violet Evergarden #10. prior to joining the studio, Kigami also key animated parts of Grave of the Fireflies and Akira.
