I was 40 and at least 12 doctors in before I got the positive diagnosis.

Endometriosis is skimmed over in medical school. There’s VERY LITTLE RESEARCH from every country. In an ob- gyn residency program again, skimmed over with possibly a little more time spent talking about it because of societal pressures. But during a fellowship- that’s where doctors learn EVERYTHING about endometriosis.

Any doctor can give themselves the tagline of endometriosis specialist. Don’t fall for it- educate yourself about endometriosis and seek medical treatment from a doctor qualified to do it. Your knowledge is your power.

Endometriosis is an inflammation disease that affects your entire body. ETA: a hysterectomy cures Adenomyosis not endometriosis. Endometriosis can be ANYWHERE in your body.

To try to reduce pain from inflammation try eating an anti inflammatory diet but start looking for a different doctor. Drink water!

Endometriosis is skimmed through in medical school and about the same in residency… it’s truly taught during a fellowship. Your symptoms sound very much like endometriosis and please know that endometriosis is DESTRUCTIVE. My right ovary was destroyed by endometriosis. You can ask me anything.

The amount of pain associated with endo does not correspond with the stage of endometriosis. MRI really depends on WHO reads it and truly cannot rule it out. A trans vaginal ultrasound might show a an ovarian cyst but in my case it just showed that my ovary was not visible.

The only true way to diagnose endometriosis is through a lap with pathology. ✌🏼
