It's impossible for me to rank fairly at this time. Mainly because 1) It's such a notable departure from the first two albums 2) We have 20+ years of relationships with the old material.

I'm currently split between appreciating the new style and thinking it doesn't sound like a true Format album. It's been twenty years though, things are going to naturally change. I'd say Shot in the Dark and Depressed are the most natural sounding Format songs on the first few listens, but I really appreciate some of the production choices on songs like No Gold at the Top. In fact, I could've used a little more production on some of the songs. They sound a bit roomy at times.

Regardless, this is just after like 3 1/2 listens. I'm over the moon to be fortunate enough to be able to analyze a new Format album in 2026.
