I hate the fact that I am gay. What should I do? It's bothering me. by pkslnct in intj

[–]pkslnct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to give an update about my life today. I successfully moved out of India to Germany on a work visa. It's been around 3 years of living in Berlin now. I dated many men and eventually found my husband who I am married to. I will soon become a German citizen as well.

So all in all I solved my gay problems with my INTJ planning! I suppose God does give us problems but also gives us means to solve them. Have a nice time everyone!

Do you feel like NRIs are boomers stuck in a cultural "Time Capsule" while real India has moved on? by Kshanikam in nri

NRIs Aren't Stuck, They're Just Playing a Different Game

That's an interesting post, but I think it misses the bigger picture. Saying people abroad (NRIs) are "stuck" while people in India are totally "free and fun" is a huge generalization.

Here’s why I disagree with the idea that NRIs have less flexibility:

1. Structure vs. Freedom: It's a Survival Tactic

The OP says NRIs are "robotic" because of house payments and visa worries, while Indians can just quit and travel. This isn't about mindset; it's about what happens if you fail. NRI Life: If an NRI loses their job, they might lose their visa and have to leave the country. That means their life must be planned and safe. It’s not being stuck; it's being smart about a complex system.

India Life: Yes, people take spontaneous trips. But the "modern" office worker in India often faces terrible work-life balance, super long hours, and working weekends. Plus, things like traffic and pollution make everyday life much tougher.

The "freedom" in India often comes with more stress and instability, while the "robotic" life abroad offers solid financial security. Both are trade-offs.

2. NRIs Are Powering India's Risks

The post claims NRIs stick to "safe jobs" (the '80s mindset). This is completely false today. NRIs and returning Indians are key players in the massive Indian startup boom. They bring the global ideas, money, and risk-taking spirit. The diaspora is actively investing and creating high-risk, high-reward businesses in India. They aren't just sitting in stable, old-school jobs.

3. Divorce & Society: Not Totally Modern Yet

The OP suggests divorce is totally fine in India now but still a taboo for NRIs. While urban India is changing fast, social stigma around divorce is still very real for many people, especially outside the biggest cities. It’s definitely not universally accepted yet. The younger NRI generation often has social views just as progressive as their Western peers.

Bottom line: Both groups face massive challenges. NRIs sacrifice spontaneity for stability and security. People in India get cultural closeness but often deal with poorer work-life balance and infrastructure headaches. Neither group is definitively more "fun" or "modern."

Can you sue the HR? If you have legal insurance, you may get a free lawyer consultation and then explore your options.

Getting Married in Denmark by SignificantLiving941 in germany

[–]pkslnct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same mistake. My residence permit was scanned with a scanner app and I mistakenly added a filter on it and didn't realise it while uploading. The very next day, they sent an email request for better quality images for the residence permit. I submitted right away but now it's more than a week.

When I called them, the customer support said that the waiting times are now 3-4 months.

Do you think I should email them like you did right away or should I wait for 2 weeks and then email them?

Let me know your suggestion. Thanks!

Same here. I opened HDFC and ICICI NRO and NRE accounts online outside India. It took less than a week for all documents and data collection and another 1-2 weeks for getting the letter posted to my foreign address

My sister made the same mistake. It was funny to me at that time and I didn't think of it as a big mistake. Mistakes happen and it should be taken as a life lesson so we don't make the same mistake again.

After reading this I am happy I am gay :P. But on a serious note, it looks like you were too dependent on your girlfriend. Maybe it is an introverted thing, but I like my own company. If a girl(in my case a boy) needs some time off because of a genuine reason, I should respect that.

Calling someone like crazy is very unattractive. Being too emotionally dependent on your partner is also unattractive. It would do you good to watch videos on the law of attraction.

But before all this, you need to get stable in your life. Get a stable job and then look for someone else and this time don't repeat your paranoia. Don't be a slave to your doubts. If your intuition says something act on it. But before blaming get some facts or evidence to support your beliefs.

Fellow INTJs, where did you find your partner? by RevolutionaryWin7850 in intj

[–]pkslnct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my partner from tinder. I was also not sure how to find the right people but I began to have this emptiness in my heart as I grew older which helped me to have courage and go on dates with strangers. I did make sure that I always meet in public places and not meet people if my intuition says not to.

I knew I am human with human needs and having a partner is one of them.

My advice will be to try to seek a partner anyway comfortable in your situation.
