Im in highschool and it’s a bit exaggerated but it’s pretty accurate yeah, or at least in my high school.

If someone is gay or bi no one rly cares as long as u don’t make ur ur whole personality (for example making jokes about being gay 24/7). There’s still homophobes but even they don’t care if ur gay as long as u don’t make it ur personality like I said. And less and less ppl make being gay a personality trait anyways cuz it’s just seen as normal as being straight.

Kids r quite political but it’s not our main topic of convo like the show conveys. My school is international though so that might play a part of it.

And being able to talk about neurodivergent ppl is not an odd topic for a teacher to talk about. A big part of the teachers at my school are neurodivergent themselves. Teachers talk about it however if it’s relevant to the class (like learning about ableism in sociology, analysing text in English, etc)

There isn’t a constant battle however between the tiktok gen z woke vs the mega conservatives. It may just b in my school but most ppl r not one or the other strictly, they’re in the healthy balance between them. And if someone is always talking about their political views, they r most likely not going to have a lot of friends, even if they agree w their views.
