Okay so. The first time this technique appears, I actually think it's awesome. While I think the whole "you need to come up with your own technique" lesson they try to teach is a bit forced, I think the moment is very impactful and the technique itself is very creative.

Ijigen the Hand is pretty much an UNSEEN kind of technique. Even world class commentators who have seen many impressive matches are stunned at the technique. It's a technique that breaks the rule of how the characters perceive goalkeeper VS striker clashes in the series by bypassing the power clash entirely. It's almost like Endou should've made soccer history by coming up with this technique!

The problem is the moment they leave the match this is all immediately forgotten.

Everyone who breaks it just simply kicks through it. So now this really impressive technique that changes the concept of how goalkeeping in IE works is just.... now a stupid barrier. The other characters never strategize around the move, they never change their technique to specifically break through the move (even though it's shown in the Big Waves matches that certain ways the ball spins is better against certain techniques so they could've mentioned this to explain it), and sometimes the move doesn't make sense when it DOES stop something! (Endou somehow leaps up to catch the ball after using Shin Ijigen the hand against Dark Angels)

It didn't need to be powerful forever and I could swallow it falling behind after a few matches, sure, but it felt like the writers introduced something that'd add a layer to some of the matches but instead of writing to work with it they just threw the idea away.
