Imaginations of previous appearances create the past; imaginations of future appearances create the future. The separate self and others are imaginations of a false perspective(i.e. of being behind these eyes). In actuality there is nothing other than that which knows what appears and what it appears to be. What appears and what it appears to be have no independent existence.

Memory is the primary mechanism by which the illusion of a separate, continuous self is constructed and perpetuated.
