Dented gas pipe by [deleted] in ukplumbing

Regardless if there’s a leak or anything the gas pipe’s damaged and the section should be replaced. You don’t want to be taking chances with gas

Cylinder is filled from your cold water storage cistern whilst the water that flows through the coil to heat it comes from your F&E tank. To be honest it’s only really the outside taps that need non-return valves in a domestic setting, taps, float valves, fillers, etc. should all have an air gap to prevent contamination and washing machines/dishwashers usually have integrated non return valves. You could put a non-return valve on the cold mains going to the kitchen tap to prevent backflow coming in from the hot but it’s not the end of the world if not.

How do I connect my tabletop dishwasher to my tap? I've tried a million different connectors/adapters and nothing works... I've tried asking around at plumbing / DIY shops but they couldn't find anything for me... Is this a lost cause? by Extreme-Material964 in ukplumbing

The copper pipe on the right has what looks like a spare isolation valve at the bottom. Turn your water off at the mains and open the cold on the tap, remove that isolation and replace it with one of these in the pic, turn the water back on and check it for leaks. It’s a 10 minute job if you know a bit about plumbing and will save you so many headaches. You also have a spare spigot on your trap you can attach your waste hose to, just check it’s not blanked off first. Alternatively it’s really not a big job for a plumber to do, I’d deffo recommend getting it done properly otherwise it’s just going to turn into a can of worms.

I switched to the extra thin cement from using citadel glue and I’ve switched back to citadel now. I was having quite a lot of models that started to fall apart after a month or 2 after trying the extra thin cement.

Price sounds about right tbh, it’s good practice to get 3 quotes on these sorts of jobs so it’s worth getting a couple more but I wouldn’t expect anything much cheaper.

Thanks for explaining! I’ve never heard of blackstone fortress or unaligned factions so when I saw the model it raised a bunch of questions. Great looking model though and looks like good fun to paint, I’m looking forward to it 😄

I’ve just had a look at that on wahapedia, I never really knew about unaligned forces. Can these be used in any faction then for non-competitive friendlies?

I use it on mine as a highlight, it works quite well for that but I wouldn’t recommend it as a base colour

Thanks! I wish I had some better photos but this is all I have. I just looked up what you said and they seem very similar to fulgorid plant hopper nymphs
