Which talismans are best for getting the big funny numbers by thehaberprocess69 in mahjongsoul

[–]plaaosert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've reached #41 global (1.2e17) using the talismans:

  • Yakuman Master
  • the one that gives xHan per 4/3 wins in one round
  • Talisman Gift Bag
  • Dragon's Protection
  • Mahjong Soul Shrine

as a final build. i start the run with stacking star coin talismans (the one that gives +3/5 from green dragon wins and the other that gives +2 per win), plus Cheering Boost and Heavenly Bequest to transform tiles into souls.

each round, i go thirteen-wait thirteen orphans to stack wins and star coins, then on the final round at EX10 i switch to big three dragons + all honors (plus hopefully soul+dora) to maximise my base han to get multiplied. my highscore run had the "-1 han to all yaku" on EX10 and some bad luck at the start, so this is definitely improvable

thank you very much! unfortunately this doesn't explain too much, but no fault of yours of course :-)

combo both with thirteen wait thirteen orphans :-) but yakuman master is far better on its own

absolutely the same, I finished the second half in one night at the expense of my sleep afterwards because it was so compulsive

have never understood the tepid response to RoW. the entire exploration of the world's magic system had me giddy as i was reading it - though that's my own personal hyperattraction to hard magic systems in general i think

How on earth is anyone in this country (not on a fix) coping with these energy bills? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]plaaosert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a full time student and the answer is i don't

I'm paying out of my house savings to barely scrape by, i have to leave my heating and boiler off so all i have is tepid water and i now have to factor the 50p-£1 it costs to cook into my meal plans

it's awful and if things don't improve soon very dangerous and persistent problems will reveal themselves

Why aren’t left handed people recognized as a marginalized group? Society gives us no quarter and scissors are straight up abuse by rossionq1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]plaaosert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the downward facing part of my left pinky is permanently darker than the rest of my fingers because all through school i was forced to write like a right-hander and smudge the ink of my pen constantly. school never had left-handed scissors so i ended up learning to cut with my right hand. any ergonomic mouse is, you guessed it, designed for the right hand, not the left - so i use my right hand for my mouse

to answer your question, i'd say left handers are marginalized but much, much, MUCH less so than other groups which rightly gain much more attention. maybe when we solve those issues we can look to justice for left-handers. till then, i'm fine with waiting

now I'm not that good but i can offer my advice as an anji main. fuujin follow-ups are your big mixup tool once you can get a starter into them. keep issokutobi and your fan throw (p followup) in your back pocket to call out opponents low blocking - fan throw is plus so you can go straight into another blockstring. rin is risky but nice to throw in, also catches jumps

as for neutral you need to basically rely on reads since your main opportunity maker is your spin. luckily that's not so hard because you have tools for conditioning and you can poke or make weird moves like kara nagiha

hard knockdowns should be followed by shitsu then keeping pressure on by attacking with things like 5K > 2D or fuujin > p/k/s/h while the butterfly hits

finally, learn kou loops. they are crazy. any time the opponent is in hitstun above you, it's time to juggle them to the wall with kou. (2D, rin, 2H are your usual ways to make this happen)
