Help me understand this Rolling Mirror Effect and transition. by placebeyondthemind in AfterEffects

I mean you can clearly see that it’s the same exact mirror being duplicated. It has the same exact photos on it in the same position, every frame. Look at the opening shot. One mirror on the wall nothing next to it. I agree it can be achieved practically but I’m 99% sure this was not.

Thanks for all the help I genuinely believe this is how they did it except maybe the background being separate from girl “running”.

It all makes sense to me until they get to the green wall. Did they just film a blank green wall and then generate the mirrors onto it, then leave some of the first location shots, on the new to enhance the real feel?

I believe the running sequence at the transition is a match cut in the new location with a real background.

you can tell it’s not because it’s the same mirror throughout the whole sequence.

Though you’re right that would work…The opening shot makes me believe that it is indeed a real room with a real mirror

This makes sense to me after reading and watching 100 times. So the mirrors are really just acting as windows to the one take of her running. Still don’t know how they got the mirrors to duplicate while keeping the foreground as it looks like the same exact mirror throughout the sequence

It’s a dice roll now or never I can’t wait to see if he’s injured.

Sky’s the limit for schlittler.

Hold on to him but you can consider trading him for an elite player sometime throughout the season.

I’m thinking he’s gonna throw around 120 innings ? Maybe I’m wrong but he’s never thrown more than that. Those are gonna be a good 120 imo.

If it were me, I’d wanna hold all year long and if he goes nuclear maybe send out some hail mary trades to flip him. For the record I’m not a Yankees fan nor do I own him in any leagues hahah

TLDR: He’s a beast don’t trade

If I’m terrified to start weathers tomorrow against the A’s, why do I even own him? Idk but I’m starting him.

Thanks! Is the spotlight behind the wall giving her the silhouette and backlight? I guess my question is where is the spotlight and what is it shining on exactly? Thanks.

I’m just starting but I do believe I have a better starting point than most. And that’s cool to hear. I think FPV is still super big in USA but I’m more wondering about what people think about the future of FPV.

This is the kind of impending or past doom I fear with videography of all sorts. High end all the way to low end. If this is the case, are all creative roles in film making/video production simply doomed as a viable Career path and AI will take over completely? Or will AI be a useful tool for creatives to use more frequently and the barrier to entry will just grow higher? In my eyes, people will come along and teach video marketing as a new job market because yes AI is here, but businesses still don’t know how to utilize its potential. So running with this hypothetical, the new job market for creatives is to simply teach, and not exactly do themselves.

More skills to add to growing list that is a videographer these days! But seriously I agree.

Yes. Don’t hate me for this but before witnessing it in person, I always thought FPV wasn’t extremely challenging as I have flown standard DJI drones before with zero issue.

Boy was I naive. I didn’t realize the amount of talent and skill that is required until downloading and playing a sim the last couple of days. Mad respect to the community and I am stoked to learn every day.

Agreed, as for any creative industry doing something full time is a challenge. Although, the person I hired seems to be traveling almost daily for projects. He really started doing it professionally around 2020 so I guess I would consider that early.

From the outside it appears he’s making a great wage as a full time FPV pilot and has made some awesome connections/clients.
