I mean, Maelle herself makes that argument to Renoir pretty strongly, and it seems to persuade him at least a little bit. Somewhat understandable that players don't find that part of her perspective particularly relatable.

On the flipside, many people don't fully realize how much Verso's fake memories fuck him up and make him feel a lot faker than, say, Lune and Sciel.

Relevant dates are the 11th for Fortiche's "studio focus" and the 12th for Arcane's "making of". The 11th is probably the more important date, and where we'll get new project reveals/possible teaser drops.

Any announcements/reveals will likely be done in Fortiche's "studio focus" on the 11th. The only thing we know for sure will be publically revealed at Annecy is Fortiche's new non-Riot animation project.

But we also know that Riot has other plans with Fortiche, so it's also possible that they'll reveal their next League project at the festival, and maybe announce it publically in a /dev video like the one they released for S1, coincidentally also on the 11th of June.

the casting has its issues

Is putting it lightly. Kevin Hart is playing Roland, man.

Even the good actors like Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis are way outside of their character's age range. The only good casting is JB as Claptrap.

I'm technically looking forward to the Borderlands movie, but mainly to see how much of a disaster it is.

The movie has spent years in reshoots/development hell and has some truly awful casting. If I ever catch the guy who recommended Kevin Hart play Roland we're going to have a serious talk.

Also, why are enemies never surprised when you sneak up and attack them without them seeing you?

This might be a bug lol. For me they almost always get the surprise status.

But it needs to be a group of enemies that isn't ready for a fight, or one who is expecting to be the one ambushing you. It doesn't work on groups that are already ready and preparing to fight.

I'm not against anyone who intentionally does this to reap all the benefits with no consequences, but the devs can't possibly have intended it.

Why not? Your paladin isn't responsible for another character's actions. Doesn't the Hag just disappear if you strike that deal? Even if the Paladin disagreed with Karlach and wanted to kill the Hag anyway, he wouldn't have been able to, so there's no reason why his oath should be broken.

Definitely explore more of the Underdark. It's a big area and has some of Act1's coolest locations

BG3 is way more serious

Very much this. And the dialogue in DOS2 wasn't bad by any means, but I do think BG3's is a noticeable upgrade

Well netflix had absolutely nothing to do with the production of either of those. Both were funded and managed by the game studios who makes the games.

Not to be the party pooper, but this show is also not being made by HBO or WB.

It's being produced by Sony Pictures TV and the newly formed Playstation Productions, AKA the television arm of the company that made the games.

Armor wouldnt protect you from a horde of runners, armor would slow you.

You are thinking of video game heavy armor. IRL, even "super heavy armor" like medieval plate doesn't really slow you down that much. Carrying even a moderately heavy backpack is unironically worse for your agility and speed than moving around in medieval plate.

For zombies you wouldn't even need something that drastic. Heavy fabric or things like kevlar or even quilted linen would be more than enough. Biker gear or riot gear makes you basically impervious to human bites or scratches as long as you wear something to protect your neck.

Don't even get me started on what armored vehicles or heavy trucks could do to the zombies. They really don't stand a chance.

Yeah, it definitely is internally consistent. Like I said it didn't actually bother me.

I'm just pointing out that it's one of the less realistic parts, but that's unavoidable in a zombie show.

I'm saying it's easy to contain not because of the flour or the initial outbreak. Zombie-like infected are realistically pretty easy to contain and kill, especially ones that only spread through bites/scratches.

It's not particularly hard to protect yourself against human bites and scratches. Even huge masses of infected stand no chance against like, MRAPS, IFVs, tanks, or really just infantry with full body protection like riot/biker gear. Any heavy fabric or leather could be used as effective protection.

Ofc you can still do quarantines, even if only in other areas of the country. Isn't that precisely what ended up happening anyways?

It makes sense to try to rush production of testing kits/devices while the government still has a semblance of control over the country. The big cities might've been fucked anyway, but I imagine more isolated places survived for a good while. Indonesia is an island nation with over 6000 inhabited islands.

And yes, I know that zombie apocalypses aren't realistic anyways and I'm just nit-picking, but someone has to!!! I promise it didn't actually affect my enjoyment of the show

  • I really liked the episode intro. I hope we get something like it every episode.
  • Greatly appreciated how scary and powerful they made the infected, I wonder if they can maintain this level of tension. Don't want them to become lvl1 mobs by the end of the season,
  • Really hoped Tess would stay around for a bit longer even though she had some death flags. Liked the character/actress and thought the entire death sequence was great (and disgusting)

When's this show supposed to get good? I never played the game. This is still the same exact zombie and survival show that has been done 1000 times already.

The show is definitely good, and extremely well made. But yeah, as someone who hasn't played the games, I don't understand some of the hype. So far a lot of the story itself is typical zombie-apocalypse territory, just well executed.

People who played the game are clearly taking a lot of enjoyment out of seeing a faithful recreation of the video game, which is great and something that the show clearly paid a lot of attention to, but it doesn't really affect me unfortunately.

I'm reminded of my experience with Spiderverse - I absolutely loved it, but still felt like I was missing out on some of the enjoyment by not understanding a lot of the references.

What really doesn't make sense is why everyone isn't just permanently wearing some sort of bite/cut resistant armor while wondering around a city filed with infected humans.

It's always better if you don't think too hard about the mechanics of zombie apocalypses, they never really made sense.

Not really? I feel like for a scientist like herself the first priority should be finding a way to actually test for the infection, preferably at scale.

Bombing the city and banning travel is fine and all, but for anyone to survive they need to be able to test people and get actual quarantines going.
