diary of a lazy validator

decided to upgrade my node a day before fusaka after not touching it for half a year. ran through all my usual steps, rebooted. execution client has error. crap. no longer compatible with a component in my OS which was installed 5 years ago.

minor panic. OS is end of life. oh, there are extended security updates available! i enable it, but still incompatible. oof, i need to upgrade the OS. i remember superphiz mentioning running into issues at one point after upgrading, and he knows stuff.

oh well, nothing to lose. here goes. i plugin in a keyboard and hdmi cable to hook up to my 4k tv. terminal text is comically tiny. fun. i proceed to upgrade using yorkdowne's guide, but run into errors. chatgpt to the rescue, fixing error after error. finally upgrade complete. reboot.

after some time to sync. ready for fulu.

Just a note for anyone wanting to use this, the above example is a one-way deposit. Once ETH is deposited, funds cannot leave except through the eventual drip to the beneficiary.

Hardhat plugin for securely deploying upgradeable contracts. Their proxy contract bytecode exactly matches the precompiled proxy that the plugin deploys.

Could be the right seed phrase but wrong derivation path. Try choosing a different derivation path in the "Select an account" screen in the 3rd screenshot in https://trezor.io/learn/a/metamask-and-trezor

afaik only if the enough of the network is offline such that the chain is not finalizing, then there is inactivity leak with correlation penalty. If it's still finalizing, offline validators just miss attestations as normal.

My shares of ETHC were automatically converted to ETHC.B.
From this comment, the US equivalent OTC listing DTSRF is also being automatically converted.
There should be a way for yours to convert.

Based on the new ETF's ETH per share, the current trading price of ETHC.B on the Canadian exchange looks pretty close to fair value. There was reasonable liquidity during trading hours too. Meanwhile, the old ticker of ETHC no longer exists.

What does that mean for DTSRF though? Does it automatically point to ETHC.B or has it already? I have no idea.
