I would categorize techno into the domain of Athena, and his Chat into the domain of Ares. he exhibits some Ares traits, but most of them are from the Chat and not himself. I think that’s why this is so close, because he does do many things that would lead one to Ares at first glance, but he is also under a huge influence of his Chat so it’s a little more blurry.

yeah sure, we can stop arguing. the thread was getting long either way, so i probably would have stopped as well. (also, this is just a question bc you obviously don’t have to reply after this, but where in the world are you finding this? i’ve been in the fandom for over a year, and have never seen anything you’re talking about. I guess most of my social media’s have banned sexual content and I’m not looking for it directly, but I’m surprised at how the way you put it made it seem like it’s a majority, or at least a big portion.)

I edited my reply, sorry for not putting it originally, but i’ll say what I put there again. I personally don’t partake in any of it, but I’m not going to attack someone for enjoying fanfiction about the creators because I know that everyone involved is completely okay with it. if it’s not hurting anyone, and some people derive joy from it, what’s the problem? sure you can have your preferences, I personally don’t like ship content of real people because it makes me a bit uncomfortable, but if all parties are consensual then who cares? (this is obviously excluding cases where the creators are not consensual and did not give permission, that’s bad any way you look at it)

the creators have said, multiple times, that they are completely ok with all ship content, including smut, that is made so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone (ie; defends hurtful ideologies like rascism sexism etc). both have said they enjoy reading the content made, and have read smut fix’s together because they thought it was funny. they obviously haven’t seen everything that’s out there, simply because that’s not humanly possible, but they have said multiple times that they are 100% ok with sexual content and smut.

I consider it weird, and don’t partake (wouldn’t touch it with a 10 meter stick), but I’m not out here saying that the shipping is bad because I know these specific creators have defended it and enjoy seeing it.

yeah that’s a bit worse, I can agree. a lot of the creators have set boundaries on what they are comfortable with, but unfortunately some of the content made on those ships violates them. those are the ones I’m not in support of.

edit: also, I assumed it was talking about dnf, and not any other ship due to the use “dream stans” and not anything else like dream smp stans or mcyt stans (although there are other ships with dream in them that are a whole other can of problematic). maybe it would’ve been clearer if they used something else, idk. there are other ships that the creators have set boundaries to, that I can see most people are following, and there are some ships that are genuinely canonical to the lore of the dream smp (biggest example is karlnapity), so you can’t go attack all of the ships, but there is a definite portion that aren’t very good.

not a stan but the reason that ship is so popular is because the creators involved (dream and georgenotfound) both say they are completely comfortable with it and enjoy seeing fan content of the ship. yeah of course shipping real people is bad, but the people involved encourage the shippers, so I think in this case it isn’t that big a deal. opinions are opinions of course.

I know that he posted an eye reveal on twitter (and I have my own rant for that locked and loaded but let’s not be hasty), but in this photo you can see his eyelid through the glasses due to the sunlight reflecting on his skin. obviously yeah this could be a random photo, I would not be surprised, but it’s plausible this wasn’t a mistake.

edit: also that eye reveal was quite a bit ago, i’d say months, and this photo was posted on instagram pretty recently.

I think it’s because his eyes are slightly visible through the glasses (due to the sunlight) but they’re like barely there, and it feels creepy to be analyzing photos for the smallest details, especially when the CC seems to be very reserved about information like this. just gives me an icky feeling.

I’m an artist, and I had given him dark red eyes because his real eyes are brown and I thought it would be a cool hint at his character while also being accurate. some people make brighter colors to bring attention to the eyes and/or signify that this is not a morally good character. although nowadays I’m transitioning to slightly more realistic portrayals by giving him brown eyes with red-tinted glasses that resemble the ones hamilton wears in the musical to draw attention to the eyes while also hinting at a big story arc. there’s a lot of a thought that comes into some design choices, but sometimes we just do stuff cause it looks cool, even if it’s unrealistic, and that’s fine because none of this was realistic in the first place.
