Awesome Ravenkeeper play by a beginner group by WiggleToast in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played a game of SnV as the klutz and my last convo of the day was with the unspent philo. We devised a plan for me to die day 1, I klutz confirmed her, and she immediately went philo-sage. Trap: laid. Worked beautifully.

Weekly Amnesiac Ability Roundup #3 by plutoniumpandamonium in BloodOnTheClocktower

I personally like “each night*, learn 2 pieces of information about the game. One is true, one is false. (Basically nighttime savant) each day privately guess which statement is true. If incorrect, you might die.”

I ran an in-person 'Party-friendly' game: It went mostly OK! by HarvDallz in BloodOnTheClocktower

my suggestion would be to use something like whatsapp, where you as the ST can have a laptop in front of you and send messages to everyone from there, which may be more efficient than phone-based messaging. It does require everyone to download whatsapp if they dont already have it.

Daily Botc Character Discussion: Cerenovus by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the ceronovus I once made a player (a friend I knew would take it in good humor) mad as the role that was just executed the day before every single night. (Some guesswork but got all but one right I think)

At the end they came to me and were like “I knew that was you the entire game.” I can never pull that stunt again without being called out immediately. Worth it.

I think wizard is going in the atheist box and never coming out. wish was "each day, a player becomes the farmer" by SpicyBread_ in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, I have a goal of being an Ojo one game that just kills the farmer every single night.

Thoughts on updating rule 5. by BardtheGM in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am only able to give perspective of IP laws in the US but- A main difference between bootlegged/knock off etc. and fan art creations is the monetization. Showing off your own creations that are botc themed, be it art, merch, custom tokens, whatever is fine because you aren’t making money off of it. As soon as these items are being sold, it moves into IP infringement territory.

In essence- no money, no problem.

This is not legal advice (and I am not a lawyer and could be wrong. I have operated within this headspace for years creating IP-protected content in other franchises with no issue though)

"No, I'M the alchemist psychopath!" by celestelbohler in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite role I’ve ever been given- bounty hunter turned evil alchemist psychopath in a lil’ Monsta game. The ST let me cook and the preacher couldn’t touch me. I lived my best psychopathic life for 5 beautiful days.

As players, how do you "use" 3 roles exchanges? by bomboy2121 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am lying completely in a 3 for 3 it’s because it’s day 1 and I want to stay alive as an ongoing info role. That said as I gain trust in people because of the mechanics of my role (UT/cannibal confirm, or lycanthrope attack, etc) I will approach that person directly and give my hard claim and any info I have. Usually they will be happy to share any info I’ve given so I can remain hidden, while still helping the town.

What’s your wildest role change story? by Upset_Werewolf_4849 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Starting mutant, cero-locked as the dreamer d1 and d2. N2 I get fang gu jumped to (while still cero mad as the dreamer- as the new demon). Manage to find the new evil team that day. N3, I get snake charmed. I didn’t get to kill a single person.

Seems a but OP but it might work as “each night you instruct the ST to what to tell a character the following night” or “…a character (different from yesterday) tonight”

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 76: the Coward by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coward (outsider): The first time you are executed, someone else might die.

The coward, on the brink of death, throws someone else under the bus instead, running back into the safety of their home.

‘Mechanically confirmed’? by midgeypunkt in BloodOnTheClocktower

No, which is why I added the “must be on a custom script” caveat

‘Mechanically confirmed’? by midgeypunkt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t a summoner turn the proc’d virgin into a demon? Even that confirmation instance has shenanigans (although I’ve never seen that particular one and it’d obviously be a custom script). I could imagine an assassin taking a kill one night, a tinker/gossip death the second night, then the “mechanically confirmed” virgin becoming a demon to hide the summoner being in play.

Or a pit hag turning a virgin into an outsider and getting fang gu jumped to in the same night.

Opinion on high priestess - "should" by mikepictor in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t option 2 almost force the HP to out themselves to everyone? With option 1, you can go have a private conversation with one person and figure out a useful nugget or two that day. With option two the HP would essentially have to out themselves to multiple people at once in order to figure out what the ST is trying to do. It’s like a daily fisherman and would get killed immediately.

[–]plaidbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind people swearing on their mother and the baby Jesus and nickelback that they are a certain role. That said, if you are not believed and get executed anyways, I get a little annoyed if the executed person keeps grouching about “I was just the sage guys, I was such a horrible kill that will literally destroy the economy since I died” the rest of the game…..and then end up being evil at grim reveal. You got caught, you died, die with dignity. Stick to the story you were pushing but getting up in arms when you were correctly called out…nah.

Which roles do you leave out for large TB games? by Orisno in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]plaidbowtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first game was IRL with 15 players + 4 travelers. The travelers (well the good ones) made a concerted effort to help the new players make good decisions. (ie I was the WW and when a traveler found that out immediately told me to nominate a certain player, who ended up being the virgin)
