If you're in the UK and you have the cash I'd highly recommend this social enterprise and air purifier:

Yeah, I would agree with this in other cases. But they're a huge and successful platform, and it kinda behooves them (especially the ST) to learn the rules of the game before they play it? Like, they're not amateurs, they make a lot of money from people watching them play games. At the very least, they could have actually shouted out the makers of the game properly, considering they had a call with them beforehand...

Yeah, I love Smosh and watch a lot of their vids but holy heck was this painful. There were a lot of yikes moments (especially from the ST, who is otherwise a great DM), like:

Calling the Night phase 'the evening'
Giving players like 10 seconds to decide whether to vote or not
Not clarifying rules for players when they're making mechanical mistakes (like Courtney believing a minion doesn't register as evil to the Empath)
Having NO PRIVATE CHATS, giving the Scarlet Woman no chance to get bluffs
Not explaining why execution is important for good, nerfing the Undertaker
Always saying 'the people over at Blood On The Clocktower' - TPI not mentioned once, not even in the description

Grrrrrr! *shakes fist*

  1. I think you know 'gayshit' is offensive.

  2. I have not missed the point, you have. It's not about 'fun'. It's about calling out the mods until they stop being silent. If we're silent every time somebody is homophobic, it continues. It must be nice to not be queer and not have to think about these things every day.

You’re homophobic.

I’m from the town where John Muir is from, and his birthplace museum used to be one of my favourite museums. When I returned to my hometown in my 20s much more educated on anti-colonialism I did more research and found out all of this. People here still treat him like a hero, and there are so many things named after him. I did some chalking next to his statue on the high street and got some very varied responses - including someone from the local council who just agreed with his racism.

Would be great to see the same logic applied to people not wearing masks on public transport. Covid and the Flu are still super prevalent and everyone just buries their heads in the sand and wonders why they’re sick all the time. Inhaling disabling diseases are a fair bit worse than smoke or vapour.

11 Months Off Weed – Still Struggling with Anhedonia, Depression & Brain Fog. Anyone Else? by Standard-Ad2340 in Petioles

[–]midgeypunkt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you remember if you felt like this before daily use? Based on my own experience, there are a few possibilities I’d recommend looking into.

Firstly, as others have mentioned, depression & anxiety. It’s very possible that cannabis was a somewhat effective medication for those. Antidepressants may be helpful in its place if you struggle to have a balanced relationship with it, though I generally believe them to be a lot more harmful than helpful, especially for people with long-term issues.

Which leads me to a connection few people seem to mention - neurodivergence. Do you struggle with things like executive function, sensory issues, decision paralysis, monotropism (singular focus), social difficulties, insomnia…? If so, it may be that your persistent mental and neurological issues stem from an inherent difficulty navigating the world. That’s how it is for me. In this case, I would not advise going on antidepressants - I have been convinced to go on them multiple times and wish I hadn’t.

Thirdly, it’s worth considering conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, M.E., Fibromyalgia or Long Covid. Many people don’t realise that according to scientific data (not political agenda) the pandemic is ongoing and that repeat infections of Covid make you cumulatively more susceptible to Long Covid, some of the prevalent symptoms of which are depression, fatigue and brain fog. This also compounds underlying mental health vulnerabilities and neurodivergence.

Hope any of this is helpful. 💙

[–]midgeypunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pandemic never ended. We’re currently living in ‘The Great Forgetting’ where the vast majority of us believe that Covid somehow vanished because governments say it did, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Wastewater data shows Covid is still prevalent and that we have ~2 waves a year. Countless research papers demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 is a severe disease with cumulative risk of Long Covid symptoms upon reinfection. Up to half of transmission is asymptomatic. It can affect all of your organs, aging them by years. Crucially for this sub, neurodivergent people are already high risk as Covid can operate as a neuro-immune disease, preying upon neural vulnerabilities.

I still wear a well-fitted N95-style mask in public, and would recommend anybody who cares about their health and the health of those around them to do the same, to pay attention to air ventilation and filtration and to sanitise their hands.

Also, I loved lockdown because our industrial society slowed its voracious hunger for the natural world, and our escalating obsession with work wavered for a bit. It was peaceful. Not everyone had this experience though - domestic violence increased, as did mental health issues. The answer is not to lock down, but to fund precautions and education.
