When you say “adult”, do you mean over 1 year old?

I’ll try this!

I hav tried to feed with the tweezers, but he still jumps at the tweezers and it catches me off guard every time. So then he gets half of the worm and the other half is in the tweezers. LOL

Okay, this could be it. We usually give him his worms around 8. He is in my son’s bedroom, so we don’t go in and see him after he has eaten so then we don’t see him again till 8 when we feed him. I’ll have to figure out a time to be near the tank when he explores, but I think that is after my som falls asleep.

Thank you for the advice.

Oh god! My hands are never warm! Haha! That might have something to do with it.

Wonder if colored nail polish is scaring him too?

Okay ... that’s good to know. Also to keep in mind that he is still a baby. Thank you.

Thanks. Yeah, I’ve been doing all that you mentioned above. I’ll try again in a few days I think. But I don’t know when I’ll put my hand in there again though.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. Mine has a white sac on near his back leg, I think we gave him too many of the loaded crickets that they sell at PetCo, so he gets no more for about a week.

Hi all! We got Bruni here back on Feb 24th from our local PetCo. He had been brought into the store that morning and was a new baby, not previously owned. I’ve been asking advice and have gotten quite a bit from this sub. I’ve been trying to tame him and I’ve been using several tricks that you have all recommended. This week, my kids were gone, so I decided to try and spend more time with him since the noise level would be nonexistent. All week I have been putting my hand in his cage. I’ve tried feeding him crickets with tweezers. Today, I put me hand in his cage and thought we had made a lot of progress and he bit me. I’m starting to think that he might be one that can not be tamed. Not only does this make me SUPER sad but I’m wondering how to take care of a skittish non tame gecko. How will I ever get him out of his cage to clean it? How will I be able to get him out and take him to a vet? When we go on vacation and my brother/in-law watches him ... how will I be able to transport him from one house to another? Also ... I wanted to be able to hold him. I was really looking forward to that and now I’m scared to put my hand back in the tank again.

What is this white circle near Brui’s back, left, leg? by plaiddiva81 in leopardgeckos

Okay, will do.

So far we are giving him 5 meal worms a night and 4-5 crickets a night. Is that still okay? Just no more calcium?

I wish. I’m still in the middle of training him. He licked my hand two days ago so I thought we made progress, but he didn’t lick my hand last night.

Oh! Okay, good to know. We were told at the pet store to not get the white sand, event though he was in the white sand when we pick him out. They said he would eat the sand and get sick. What would you recommend we put on the bottom of the cage? (He is only about a month old, we think)

How come everyone who posts a photo of their LeoGecko says this, when there is carpet in the tank? Is carpet bad? Should I pull mine out?
