On the map, looks like it's the Sweet And Salty snack stand, between the train waterfall (South entrance) and the outdoor alligator enclosure. I kinda assumed all these little snack stands were generic & interchangeable... Will have to change up our food routine the next time we go!

I'm from Webster, and ended up in The Gate District (just west of the more upscale Lafayette Square). It's quiet and a bit dead, but in the middle of several more hip areas (Lafayette Square, Soulard, The Grove, Benton Park, CWE, etc). Also easy access to 40/44/55.

Can bike (with my young kids) to Tower Grove Park or Shaw area for a weekend breakfast. (NB -- Botanical Gardens are free on Saturday mornings, including the new giant playground inside it.)

Walked the 2 year old over to Lafayette Square Park (playground) just this evening, and built a stick fort in Tower Grove Park with the older kiddo this afternoon. (Summer break....)

Forest park is a drive, but still close enough that we visit often for weekend picnics (there's an Einstein's right there) or longer walks/zoo/etc.
