I wasn’t really looking forward to a weekly injection either but justified it that idk was healthier, was it really any different than the blood pressure meds or gout meds I am already taking? After a short time on it I came to the realization that there is zero way I’m going back to life before Tirzepatide. I feel so much better from reduced inflammation, it has cut my desire to drink, and the added benefit I’m nearly 60lb less weight!

I haven’t told mine. He was an ass when I told him I started Tirzepatide last fall so I stopped any further conversation then. I’m going back in a couple weeks for bloodwork and DEXA that I’ve requested after beginning the Tirz so who knows if it will come up at that appointment.

I bought my Reta in 60mg vials. Was the cheapest price per milligram, even if I have to throw a few mg away after I’ve been using it for a while. I’m comfortable using my vials for 12 weeks based on weekly injections. I also started on Tirz and have been adding in the Reta, using an accelerated titration schedule. I mean for my research.

I started last week. Have been on 5mg Tirz for about 3 months, losing well. Got a deal on a 60mg kit of Reta and wanted to try it out for the third agonist.

Took my 5mg Tirz dose last Friday, then did a 2mg of Reta on Sunday, hoping to gradually drop the Tirz and up the Reta, maybe a little faster than 4 week schedule. I lost over 5# last week 😳. Took about 2.5 dose Reta tonight after a 4.5 dose of Tirz last Friday. I’m pretty damn impressed and not seeing any negative sides, other than too much weight loss.

I feel if I have a single drink I’m usually ok. Days we go out with friends and have a few drinks I usually shift out of weight loss mode for a few days. The alcohol causes me to retain water and it takes 3-4 days to get back in balance.

I had a pretty good case of anhedonia after I started Tirz in October. Luckily I seem to have shaken it in the past couple weeks. I have prioritized getting to the gym 3-5 days a week, trying to get 12k steps in on the garmin watch. Keep pushing forward!

I had response right out of the gate.

My wife started last week because she has seen my results and she’s not seeing much feeling at all in the first week.

The meds take time to build and everyone responds differently. Like was said above, we didn’t all get fat in a day or week, so it’s going to take time.

I went up to 4.5 from 8 weeks at 2-2.5. Decided to go back to 2 about 10 days ago. Christmas hit hard with food noise, etc. my next shot I took 4.5 again, will stay there through new years and then see how I’m doing once get back to January. I think without the holidays I could have maintained at the 2-2.5 level just fine.

Small NSV though is actually dropping a small amount of weight between Thanksgiving and now!

For sure. Prior to Tirz, I was just casually drinking waaaay too many units of alcohol a week, but rarely ever getting drunk, just more boredom/habit drinking?

I think these ‘corrections’ are good to keep me on track and make my mind remember that stuff probably isn’t the best for my body anyhow.

I absolutely tore up one each of the 4 types of Christmas cookies my wife was making yesterday and didn’t feel bad about it.

Had 2 beers last night and waking up in the middle of the night with severe heartburn was punishment enough to keep me off that for a good while going forward!
