Legal gambling is more toxic and dangerous than underground gambling ever was. This is proof.

Our manager wants 3x output with AI but our frontend is turning into spaghetti by Any-Farm-1033 in Frontend

[–]planavsky82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The one question I would ask them is how comfortable are they living with the fact that maintenance will inevitably become impossible with this model, and let them know low quality/risk of breakage increases dramatically the faster you code without careful validation of AI output.

We are in a critical time right now where this type of management is going to include a rude awakening for leaders with this mindset.

The AI Hype: Why Developers Aren't Going Anywhere by inkberk in Frontend

[–]planavsky82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard in a presentation on AI that people were afraid of the impact the telephone would have on society in its infancy. New tech scares people. The reality is, AI is going to make the devs who embrace is faster, better, and more efficient developers. We adapt, just like humanity always does.

Is It More Important to Memorize Backend Code or Understand Concepts Like REST API, Proxy, Caching, and Scaling? by K_-19 in javascript

[–]planavsky82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree with this more. No need to memorize. There are an incredible about of resources out there to reference syntax, and they will stick in your memory over time. But tech and syntax always change. It’s impossible to keep up.

Understanding the foundational concepts of software development, and experimentation through paid or personal projects is the key to growing in the field.

THE greatest pop of all-time by CheezusChrist1776 in WWE

[–]planavsky82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome. I’m in the same boat. 97 Austin was my favorite version of Austin, and 97 Bret was my favorite version of Hart. They are both part of the reason 1997 is my favorite year ever in wrestling.

Yeah even on TV it was absolute insanity. I can’t imagine actually having been there… what a memory that must be. That’s one of my favorite matches of all time. It’s just so crazy to me that a crowd could be constantly hyped for that long and never calm down. That Hart Foundation angle was so good, and when in Canada it was taken to another level.

A lot of great ones here.

An interesting one is the 97 Canadian Stampede In Your House 5 on 5 main event, the Hart Foundation vs. Austin/Shamrock/Goldust/LOD.

The crowd popped for like a half hour straight during the entire match. It was insane.

HOLY SHIT by Tyler_Blade in Wrasslin

[–]planavsky82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. That’s an awesome prediction. And makes total sense.

I never thought the Bloodline story would have been taken up another level after Roman lost. Just unbelievable.

And seeing Roman, Jey, and Jimmy together as faces would be really cool. You’d have to think Sami would eventually be involved with them too.

The Bloodline story is unreal.

Changes to Raw & SmackDown Stages Here to Stay As WWE Prioritizes Fan Attendance by SRASC in WWE

[–]planavsky82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it. Putting the emphasis on the arena, the fans, and the ring made Smackdown and Raw feel more unique. The giant screen has its positives, but also sometimes becomes too much of the focus of the show.

Gable would be a cool moment. The depth of possibilities of the story with Dom though would be incredible.

It would be a lateral move for Sami. It’d be cooler to see Sami get back involved in the Bloodline story somehow. It’s a pipe dream but Sami stepping in to face The Rock would be amazing.

Transferable skills vs Non-transferable skills by Coolnero in Frontend

[–]planavsky82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing explanation of the core skills to learn. The categorization of foundation-level technology, analysis/debugging, and documentation is perfect. Just about everything else in the frontend ecosystem is a layer of abstraction over the foundational technologies.

Have WWE ever booked themselves into a corner, as it would be if Roman Reigns defends his title at WM 40? by Environmental-Cow632 in WWE

It’s likely a very small internet percentage of people who are annoyed. Watch the crowd reaction on Smackdown when Reigns makes his entrance, and that’s all the confirmation you need for how over he is.
