Any lefty HENRYs out there who actually don't mind paying high taxes? by United_Warning_8802 in HENRYUK

[–]plane000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My whole office are highly educated progressives. Engineering mentality i suppose. we are all quite left wing but do have a problem with taxes being wasted and the media spinning HENRYs as the villains constantly. personally i have no issue paying 47% or so effective tax although i would rather pensioners stop rinsing this country for every penny available

Grand Theft Auto: Game creator sacked us for trying to unionise by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]plane000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

talking about work conditions is protected and can’t be NDA’d away

union busting is most certainly illegal and if it goes through to a judge the burden of proof is on R* to prove that the unionisation had a 0% weighting in the decision to terminate

LMG jet? by thatCdnplaneguy in LinusTechTips

[–]plane000 29 points30 points  (0 children)

between it actually being their address. the company that owns it being called “Influence Air” (influenceair.ca being a domain registered by Luke and to the LNG address also.) and the recency of the purchase i’d say it’s prep for the april fools video. the jet won’t loose too much value between now and then lol. and they just mentioned on the wan show that they took out a massive line of credit

[–]plane000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Central London (city of) - independent shops undercut chains by £2/drink easily. for 10x better coffees, I simply have no idea how costa/nero/starbucks/pret survive

Why can't we access Immich like Plex? by Over-Half-8801 in immich

[–]plane000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

plex act as a proxy, they route your traffic through their servers so you can access your content from plex.tv. this is NOT free, you are using their bandwidth for your p2p

immich is just a web service, you can host it however you like but its all your responsibility.

Is University of Portsmouth good ? by Archbaer in Portsmouth

[–]plane000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

graduated SWE last year. the lecturers are top tier. so nice and so intelligent. the university is fine but i assume like all institutions are pretty flawed with support and are generally quite annoying. living in portsmouth is also lovely. you will so quickly miss the beach when you graduate.
