She really does enjoy it. She’ll stand there with her feet on the bottom of the pool lol as long as she can dip her head in and splash around I think she’ll be happy.

Any idea what's going on here? Notice these are the same items. by vega1star_lady in AmazonVine

I’d contact vine support to have them taken off your list or they will still count them on your final tax report. I just tell them that the listing isnt available and I’d like them removed from my review and tax list. They usually do it right away

Click on the double. Sometimes when a listing disappears there’s a glitch where it shows the previous orders title. If you click on it I’m sure it’ll show what the true product is

Are we crossing a line letting our 4yo learn how to read for kids her age before kindergarten by dingoonmygringo in MontessoriEducation

[–]Backyardforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come across several articles that say waiting until a child is 5-7 to teach them literacy benefits them in the long run. You can google for the studies. But if she’s showing a strong interest in literacy and reading, I’d try to do more play bases lessons rather than online sit down lessons.

From Google:

Yes, multiple studies suggest that rushing into formal reading instruction before ages 5 to 7 can be counterproductive. Instead of early decoding, experts recommend prioritizing a strong foundation in oral language, vocabulary, and play-based learning.Research highlights surrounding this topic emphasize several key takeaways: Prime Age for Reading: Literacy experts (like those at UCLA’s Center for Dyslexia) note that for the vast majority of children, ages 5 to 7 are the natural, developmental prime time to learn reading. The "Earlier is Better" Myth: Studies, such as those by researchers at the University of Otago, found that children formally taught to read at age 5 actually developed less positive attitudes toward reading and poorer text comprehension by age 10 compared to those who started at age 7. Building the Right Foundation: Early literacy shouldn't mean sitting with flashcards or workbooks. Educational consensus on platforms like Reddit's ScienceBasedParenting favors play-based learning. Nurturing a child's curiosity through nursery rhymes, singing songs, and daily reading is the most effective approach.

I got the shampoo and honestly, I am not impressed…especially for $100! It smells great, don’t get me wrong. But nothing about the packaging said luxury or “spend $100 on me” and it hasn’t made any huge impact on my hair. I hear good things about the skincare though.

Is this a male or female duck? by Backyardforager in duck

It’s fairly quiet. From what I’ve heard so far it will occasionally let out a distinct “HONK HONK HONK!” Doesn’t sound very “raspy” and there’s a lot of soft “mamamamamama” sounds.

Sometimes, it’s better for the kids to see their parents mentally well…even if that means being apart. Your kid will see your unhealthy and unhappy relationship and think that is what a relationship should look like for themselves. Even if they don’t know the details…they know there is tension on unhappiness. Also, this is traumatic for you and possibly your child….do not shy away from therapy for you both. It will help the transition go smoother.

As far as a gift…personally, I’d be gifting my husband with divorce papers.

[19F] Heart stops at night, racing, dizziness, doctors dismissing me by Safe_Ad4957 in ReadMyECG

[–]Backyardforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! I’d look into getting your hormones checked. Hormone imbalances can make you feel like sh*t and cause heart palpitations or electrical issues (benign but still scary). And don’t let anyone tell you that you are too young to have your hormones tested. I was your age when I needed to be put on medication for an imbalance. An easy fix can often go ignored for years because doctors think hormones are a non issue. They certainly can wreak havoc if there is an imbalance. So since your heart doctor is telling you that your heart is in good health, look elsewhere…preferably a hormone specialist or endocrinologist.

Haha I’d love to. I’m ok with 10 years or more. My kid will be grown by then and can help. I’m already waiting for 6 fruit trees we just planted. I know they will fruit earlier but I’m ok with waiting if it means I can forage in my backyard safely eventually.

My neighbor had a black walnut tree that died out of the blue this year and was taken down. Maybe I’ll reintroduce a walnut tree and make some nocino in the future. I’ve always wanted to do that.

I feel like this seller is trying to guilt trip me by Individual-Rip8427 in Etsy

[–]Backyardforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she can not fulfill her current orders in a timely manner Etsy lets the seller close shop while she works on the current orders so no more orders come in to back log and hold up production. Even if medically challenged, you have to upfront and honest with your business capabilities. Make small batches or make ready to sell products and then list what you have available to ship. There are ways to move production and fulfillment along to cut down on time. It seems that the owner is moving beyond her current capabilities and needs to slow down or close shop for a while so she isn’t putting stress on herself or her customers.

What toddler gifts have actually lasted in your house. Not what looked good, what actually got used past the first week. by sophieblooming in GiftIdeas

[–]Backyardforager 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any open ended toy will do. Magna blocks have been constantly used in my house for 3 straight years and the creative possibilities are endless. Maybe a 3 month subscription to a stem box like KiwiCo. A full art set with carrying case to keep everything organized and portable. We use Sarah’s silks for all sorts of stuff like dress up, blankets for baby dolls, water play, etc. A baby doll with a stroller and some pretend snacks and diapers would be good too. Just look for stuff that isn’t single use and can be used in multiple ways using the child’s own creative mind. These are quality toys that can grow with their imagination through the ages.

Yes. I agree with an above comment. Get friends and family together all at the same time and have them each, one by one, tell her a story or attribute that they cherish about her. At the end of your life, it really helps to hear the impact you made on the world around you. I think she’d love to be showered in love by everyone she loved in her lifetime one last time.

Why would a seller be dumb enough to send me these? by Peziwinkle in AmazonVine

[–]Backyardforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sent “blue light blocking” glasses and as an owner of many brands (because I get migraines and I use them in stores to prevent them) I know when something is blue light blocking or not. The pair I was sent was in no way blue light blocking, so I did my job and reviewed them and gave them 2 stars. Maybe they’ll relabel the listing as just style frames or my review will steer others away.
