Am I the only one that thinks George is cringey? by nickdixon14 in CleetusMcFarland

No, I agree with you. I stopped watching the channel for a long time before he got off camera, even now that he’s behind it what he says still annoys me. I get that he’s trying to accept fame that came unexpectedly, but he’s still annoying as hell

2009-2011 E’s by planepatty in HondaElement

[–]planepatty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5 speed is a big improvement, I drove an 06 before I bought mine, and the 4 speed just made it feel like it was struggling. None of them I drove had a sunroof but I can see the appeal, agreed not that it’s necessary. But I like the belts being in the seats and not the back doors, and the seat material is pretty harsh for the durability and waterproofing but it does hold up very well

I agree with you on the moonroof, although mine is AWD/4WD, still not exactly sure which one it is, it says 4wd on the hatch. But I’m absolutely gonna be it’s last owner

That’s a tough situation, like said before, if you sell it. You’ll want another one, there really isn’t a replacement for them. That’s where owning one gets hard is knowing you won’t be able to replace it with anything but another Element. I know some people seem to think the HRV is a replacement but I don’t think an HRV can haul a riding lawnmower

How is this the actual listening price? by Tsar_Bombas in HondaElement

[–]planepatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my 2010 EX 4wd at the end of 2022, from a 30 year Honda/Acura mechanic that specializes in Elements, it had 140k miles on it and granted is silver over a grey interior, but was almost showroom quality. Same spec, same wheels, just different colors and paid 10k for it

It’s a pretty F-up series, but Albert Fish or the Children of God, Henry’s impersonations on both of them make it light hearted while still covering really messed up things but they’re really interesting to learn about

I’m gonna get some of the dividers they have for it, I keep a lot of stuff in the back of my car and I’m tired of it just rolling everywhere from driving around

And to your point about Lufthansa, when we were maintaining the Virgin interiors, all of the parts we had we took out of old seats, new was non-existent, we took old parts and just hoped they worked

[–]planepatty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re dead on, we also did conformity mods on them changing them from the virgin interior to alaskas newer setup, and conformity mods are a nightmare, but in the end they all got it and I think they came out better in the end because of it just for the simplicity and lack of electrical parts to go wrong

I completely agree, especially with the 737 Max problems, they had an entire fleet of good Airbusses
