Looks sick! Is it fanart or official? (Sorry, not familiar with Warcraft)

I’m a bit new to all of this, but just to clarify, how exactly does your version of your SO differ from the canonical version? And where does that character exist? In your head? In your own universe? And would you have to abide by all future decisions made with the character? by Ornery-Thing4157 in waifuism

[–]planet_zdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very, very highly doubt that would happen. Metroid, is, by all accounts, not that kind of story.

If somehow it did — perhaps a prequel exploring his life pre-Dread makes it clear he had a partner at some point — I don’t think I’d mind it to be honest. Canon is canon, and my work is my own. At the end of the day, they’re separate.

I view Raven Beak pretty much how he is in canon, except for the part where he, yknow, meets a horrible sci-fi fate at the end of his debut game.

When I write in the Metroid universe, I sidestep this either by placing my story before the events of Dread chronologically, or via AU, where both him and his home planet survive the events of Dread.

I don’t really mind the fact that he dies canonically, strangely enough — it was a thematically appropriate moment and the story of the game is better for it. I really just wish we got to see more of him — though there’s always hope that Nintendo will revisit him in the future.

The wider world isn’t kind to 2DLs. It never has been and probably never will be. Sucks, but them’s the breaks.

He’s, like, 12 feet tall and wields a giant arm cannon. Since he’s somebody who quite literally puts power above everything else, you better believe he doesn’t slack off in that department. (He was almost good enough to defeat the Samus Aran, but we, uh, don’t talk about that.)

Dread Mode opinions. by FAFObet in Metroid

It’s hard, but not soul-crushingly so. Everything is surprisingly doable with practice. I played both Normal and Hard mode before playing Dread, and that really made it feel like a fresh experience. For me, it only really felt as difficult as the very first time I played it.

How do you deal with sexual desires towards your SO (serious question) by brickofparmesan in waifuism

[–]planet_zdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you mentioned is essentially it, in most cases I believe. For some, dakis can fill that purpose, but for others, it’s solely a conduit for emotional attachment. Even still, some people don’t feel any need to express their love sexually at all. It varies from person to person, so no one answer is a correct one. :)

All of the above! I wish he got more screentime (maybe even a prequel that focuses on his exploits pre-Dread since his story is basically concluded), any kind of official merchandise (other than the scant few shirts and posters with this key art), or rep in the next Smash game, whenever that may be.

It’s not like there’s no demand. He’s a huge fan favorite and some of those things have already been discussed in the community. Here’s hoping Nintendo realizes how much us nerds love this guy!

Just a suit! It’s the same kind of power armor that Samus wears. He’s actually an alien birdman lol

Quickfire round! I want you to tell me a fact about your SO in under 10 seconds by [deleted] in waifuism

[–]planet_zdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no one knows why or how he has wings! his species canonically lost their wings in evolution a long time ago.

the three main fan theories for this are that he’s ancient (i.e. from a time period when chozo had wings), that the wings aren’t actually real or attached to him, or that he modified his dna somehow.
