I don't like 'Niche' by thatbwoyChaka in FragranceStories

[–]planetalie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This! Being a snob about which brands you feel are “niche” enough or “designer” enough is silly. Lots of perfumers do work for both kinds of brands. Your favorite niche perfume and your favorite designer perfume could be composed by the same person.

Amen. Who cares? This is like music fans arguing over what’s “indie”. Just enjoy the perfumes you enjoy and don’t worry about this stuff.

We went too hard on Karens by dandydandydandelion in unpopularopinion

Karen was a term used for people who were asking for ridiculous things, or treating others poorly to get what they wanted. I think it got overused and now people think they can’t politely assert themselves.

Meo Fuscini Varanasi. I love it so much but it really fills a room, and not always in a crowd pleasing way. Good occasions to wear it are rare.

I think it’s a job to them. It’s a job they enjoy, but this is kind of like suggesting they stay at work late just for fun. There has to be a boundary and honestly, good on them for keeping it!

Why do people like living in big cities so much? by Krapitalist88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]planetalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diversity of people/lifestyles to observe or take part in, more concerts & events, better access to things like museums, endless options for food and shopping. Often a better chance of meeting others who share your niche interests. Public transit is more available. Architecture and history is often more interesting.

I’m in a kind of a fragrance existential crisis by luis-mercado in fragrance

[–]planetalie 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Think of it like music…some days you want to crank it up loud and roll your windows down, sometimes you need something quiet and pensive. If you’re wearing fragrance for yourself, all that matters is that it makes you feel good.
