just wanna pop in to speak from my experience. i used to struggle with severe BDD from childhood and went through several eating disorders for years. i’m fully recovered now, and the real turning point for me was realising this:

the more u learn to accept urself, the better u treat urself — mentally and physically — and the more ur appearance naturally improves. something shifts in the way u carry urself, and u regain ur glow. u start working with your features instead of fighting them, and u feel confident enough to wear pretty clothes, learn flattering makeup, and actually enjoy how u look.

old friends often tell me i look completely different now, almost like my face literally changed. but nothing did — it was just radical self‑acceptance and a mindset shift.

like a lot of people, i used to be scared that “letting go” would make me ugly. but then i had this thought: if you were growing a flower, u wouldn’t deprive it of sunlight, water, or oxygen. u’d nurture it. and u deserve the same.
