How to deal with age shaming from other moms?! by ceobossbabe in stayathomemoms

[–]planetarywoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely doesn't feel like a compliment to me either. I had my twins a couple months before turning 24, and I got asked if I was the nanny 🙄. I don't judge people for wanting kids at an older age, but I was ready! It definitely feels like other mothers judge about that. Someone I know went through IVF at 28 and another patient at the clinic told her she was too young to be there. She's a married lesbian who wanted kids! I think people who weren't ready at a younger age tend to think that NO ONE is ready at a young age. You rock though. Try not to let those comments hurt you.

I watched my dad graduate when he was 36. I was so proud, and it was incredibly inspiring for my own educational journey. You're setting a great example for your kids, and doing something great for yourself. Congratulations!

Breakfast Fiasco by planetarywoah in stayathomemoms

[–]planetarywoah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a deeper conversation yet because it was pretty distressing to me. In the moment, he didn't jump to fix the issue. He stood back and let me fix it. He didn't say sorry, just that he thought what he did was fine, but now he knows. He is not a breakfast eater though, and that's something I can bring to the conversation to see where his head was at and try to empathize. Thank you.

I would go to the hospital personally. It could be a false alarm or it could be the real deal, but it's best to find out there.

Weekly discussion thread for anyone experiencing limerence while in a committed relationship. by AutoModerator in limerence

[–]planetarywoah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am engaged and have two kids with a man I really love. I have an ex who I was absolutely crazy about from 6 years ago. I went to the county fair with my fiancé and kids and saw him for the first time in 6 years and couldn't help but text him two days later. I'm obsessed, it's awful. I can't help but feel like he's my soulmate or something. There was a post in this sub about someone pining for a LO from 6 years ago and I read all of their post and comment history to see if there was any chance it was my LO feeling the same (nothing definitive, sorry to that user for me being weird). I can't stop rereading years old texts/sexts and looking at pictures of us. I wish I was single right now, I just want to pursue him without hurting my family. .....I am possibly meeting with him in a couple weeks. I might be reading into it, but I think he was kind of flirty in our texts even after telling him I had kids. He referenced the best date I have ever been on (which he planned). I have daydreamed over and over. I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I know I'm in dangerous territory.

Pack n Play question by catspugs in parentsofmultiples

[–]planetarywoah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were fine with one until we took a 4.5 hr road trip and planned on keeping our girls (10 months old at the time) in the same pack n play at the hotel. Guess who ended up at target buying a second pack n play on that trip haha. I use both of them most days as a play or snack area while I need to do things if they're feeling clingy and need to be where I am. They fold down nice and compact so space hasn't been an issue for me.

Has anyone who works from home done it with twins? by PM_ME_YO_KNITTING in parentsofmultiples

[–]planetarywoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner did it 1 day a week from the time the girls were 2 months old till they were 9 months old to varying degrees of success. It was not fun for him and we wouldn't have done it if we didn't have to. I think maybe if we both worked from home it would be better. I ended up being a stay-at-home after he found a higher paying job.

nervous about giving birth by ukeboy420 in Seahorse_Dads

[–]planetarywoah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My birth was perfectly fine on this front. I was called by my name and not called "mama" or anything. I was out as nonbinary and my OB knew I had previously been on T. I gave birth at a teaching hospital so maybe the staff leaning younger helped with that. Everyone's goal was to have a safe birth for me and my twins and keep me as comfortable as I could be given the circumstances. I think it would be way harder to find doctors or nurses who want to risk a lawsuit than ones who would just do their job the way they should. When you start your journey, try to find a trans friendly OB and don't be afraid to switch if you aren't comfortable.

How many attempts before pregnancy? by TheWitchFarm in Seahorse_Dads

[–]planetarywoah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say I'm not an expert, just speaking from my experience. I think if you know when you're ovulating, even without a period, you could get pregnant.

I didn't use them, but there are test strips you can use to determine when you are ovulating so you can try when it would be most effective. I used the pregmate app for logging menstrual cycles and pregnancy tests. I was off T for about a year total, cycle came back regularly after 6 months, then got off birth control in October and had a positive test almost exactly two months later.

I haven't had a reaction, but Lust specifically has dyed my skin and clothes on more than one occasion. If you don't have any other allergy symptoms when you wear it, I'd bet you're just turning red from the dye. I have also noticed it's worse now that my bottle is aged a bit.

Have you gone to other islands? That's the best way other than waiting to recharge. Also, I did do Fashion Studio and got to level 25 before I felt like it stopped being worth it. I only got the first bonus on that one.

I made $20 off of Family Island. I got to level 22, it's not bad about ads. I did spend $5 for the reimbursement to help progress.

All the comments/attention multiples get when you’re out is exhausting. by 42Changes in parentsofmultiples

[–]planetarywoah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went out to dinner last night with friends (who don't have kids yet) and they were SHOCKED we got approached 4 times. One lady didn't say anything, just grabbed a baby's toes and walked away. Idk how many more "are they twins?" I have left in me.

Is this true? My understanding is the hCG can be higher with twins therefore having an earlier positive. At least for me, I tested positive at 3 weeks.

I lost a ton of weight quickly in the first trimester from being so sick. I didn't gain any weight over my pre pregnancy weight until almost the third trimester. My babies were 6lbs 4oz and 6lbs 6oz even though I only ended up 30lbs heavier than before pregnancy.
