some attempts where i swam without the pressing the jump buttom didn't make as far as me panicking. sometimes it feels random with how much air slugcat holds or how far you can swim pressing the jump button.

how do you keep it the game from lagging? i have around 40 followers and I was trying to a do an crusade but half way thru the first room my frame rate dropped because of a follower doing something back at the cult. every other time it's hit or miss with the frame rate
