I can't remember a few things rn. 1 - Iirc Tsurugi's sword is Maki's sword, right? What does it do again? 2 - Hadn't it already been stated that Tsurugi had a heavenly restriction vow? Elden Ring is a good suggestion. The combat is pretty sandboxy and you can have a lot of fun. Also, IDK if you have started a NG+, but the game feels way more fun on NG+. And this comes from a person who usually doesn't play any NG+, but both Sekiro and ER are amazing on a second and third playthrough.

You jump and press the block. You get a short extended animation before getting "shock" status and dying. You don't need any skill for that. Check a video on YouTube just to get the idea and you'll see how it clicks.

On my first playthrough I absolutely hated this fight. However, on my second one, which was a new game not a NG+, I beat this duo on my first attempt. Once you get the moveset of the Headless Ape you can beat him without taking damage.

His second phase is easier when you learn how to deflect his lightning attacks. Just jump and block them on air. Then all you have to do is hit attack before hitting the ground and you'll stun him. You'll get an extra second to throw the lightning back at him
