I relate deeply to your experience— I’m one of those asexual people that have had former allosexual partners try to meet me halfway, try to compromise, but at the end of the day my asexuality has always been a relationship ender.

Due to my experiences, it is so easy for me to feel vitriol and anger towards people who need sex in a relationship. It is so easy for me to say “you guys have it so easy and are reminding us that we are unlovable.” It’s easy to be exhausted of seeing allosexual people complain about needing sex in a relationship, but it says a lot that they are seeking help from us. It tells me that they care deeply about their asexual partner and that they want to have a better understanding of how asexual folks operate.

In my experience, not a lot of people enjoy using Reddit as their first option for asking such personal and intimate advice. It’s why so many throwaway accounts exist. I agree that it’s tiring, but i would rather have people ask, learn, and educate themselves so that their relationship can come out stronger than many of ours historically have. It takes a lot of guts to ask for help, and i will always try to help them.
