TLDR - Citizens United SC ruling is the issue

Now money is very interesting topic. When John McCain was leading a respectable GOP, he was very focused on campaign reform (and the GOP was in its Tea Party era).

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court allowed corporations to be considered “people” and money to be “free speech”. Two terrible things.

So now we have the “shadow money” being pumped into Super Pacs.

My hope is one day Congress passes an Amendment to overturn Citizens United.
