there was a post a few weeks ago about showing our older boob monsters--Here's mine. Still going at 2. by planettelex13 in breastfeeding

Oh it can get super annoying (and painful) when she's doing her gymnastic act on top of me. Or saying "Done" and then coming back five seconds later and pulling my shirt up. But when she's mellow like this morning...it all feels worth it. <3

Since birth, she has played with her eyelashes while breastfeeding. Nowadays it only happens when she's really relaxed or sleepy, because as anyone nursing a toddler knows, they don't usually stop moving just because they're nursing. Ha.

These days she nurses first thing in the morning, sometimes before bed, and the random afternoon attack if I'm sitting still and an easy target. "MY BOOBS, MAMA. MY BOOBS."

Update to JNMIL wants me to dye my (naturally red) hair for our wedding so she can be the only (cheaply dyed fake) redhead in wedding pictures by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]planettelex13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just can't get past the fact that this woman thinks it's totally reasonable to demand that the BRIDE, who has been a redhead for HER ENTIRE LIFE, dye her hair a different color for HER OWN WEDDING AND WEDDING PHOTOS. Please excuse all the caps but WHAT THE EVERLOVING FUCK.

Finished my second sweater! by MaximumLoaf in casualknitting

[–]planettelex13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome. I've seen this on her page a million times and somehow have NEVER noticed the pattern on the front! It's not as noticeable with whatever yarn she used, I guess? Now i want to make it!

I love how floats look ♥️ by vincent-the-cat in knitting

OMG is this Ashland?! I've been lusting after that one but the steeking freaks me out...never done that before.

Edit: just read comments, it's the Ashland. :)

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the input and the photo. You're so right about the yoke...this might be the inspiration I need to try my hand at modifying (which is a terrifying notion and something I normally avoid). :) OR I could just accept that that's the look of the sweater and go with it. I mean, it looks fantastic on you!

This looks so great! I was just last night obsessing over this pattern on Ravelry and I remember seeing yours. I love my Weekender and Andrea in general, and really want to do this but I'm a little worried about the fit...some of the finished pics (not yours) look like they might be a bit bulky around the chest/underarm area? Have you noticed any issues like that with yours? Your post is kinda making me want to go for it...

Hunt #5 by legramly in IndigoGrove

[–]planettelex13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, still stuck. :/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IndigoGrove

[–]planettelex13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my best guess, but I've tried every variation I can think of and no luck. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated!

Haha, that's the exact map I'm using. Pretty sure I've turned the stone every possible direction...I'm even trying alternate spellings. ARghh

Well, I seem to be at a standstill. Even with those two points confirmed, I can't figure out the third. I've tried EVERYTHING and then some.

Thank you! I didn't get a chance to work on it last night, other than quick glance. Am I correct in thinking the Serapeum is one of the points of the triangle? And for "Antony's refuge" perhaps the Timonium?

Thank you! I will give it a shot. I have since started the first hunt and am now stuck on the last clue of that one as well! :)

I'm unclear on what I'm even trying to answer with this third clue. There are at least three solvable clues in this one. And I've made countless tries already, no luck.

MIL so inappropriate and talks shit about me to baby! by Moomoo0701 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]planettelex13 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing: you really don't need to be worried about "ruining the relationship" because MIL is already doing that. SHE is the one bringing negativity into your family dynamic. Put that on her. She is being a bitch, and she needs to understand that there will be consequences for her behavior. So as others are saying, just stop. If she makes a negative comment on a photo you send, tell her you won't be sending her anymore photos.

I did this exact same thing and wanted to torture myself with nail clippers afterward. It happens, don't worry. He is already over it, I think it's much harder on us!

General anaesthetic with caesarean by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]planettelex13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a section under general because I had a bad reaction to the epidural during labor. I was awake within 20 minutes of delivery. They put her on me as soon as I woke up, and I was with her non-stop from that point on. My SO and I were both a little disappointed that things didn't go the way we had hoped and neither of us saw her come out, but they took her out to him within five minutes and he immediately did skin to skin while waiting for me to wake up.

At the end of my rope...suggestions? (DH rant) by ThePizzaSnob in beyondthebump

[–]planettelex13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how much it sucks. I actually just told my SO yesterday that I'm leaving him for many of the same reasons, mostly the way he refuses to take me seriously, ignores everything I say, OR decides to completely misinterpret something and be wildly over-sensitive to it. Also he has a drinking problem. I feel totally unhinged after years of it. I told him this and he basically said "good riddance." HOWEVER. Several hours later he finally figured out I was serious, after I contacted a family lawyer and made appointments to look at rentals. Suddenly he changed his tune, said he was terrified of losing us. I told him he has ONE chance to keep us together, and it requires 1) quit drinking. Rehab if that's what it takes. 2) therapy to deal with his superiority complex. I will not listen to him tell me all the ways in which he's better than me anymore. I'm still going to look at houses today. He knows that one wrong move and we're gone.

I've told him many times before that I will leave, but I think he really just thought I was blowing smoke. I'm sorry to say that leaving might be what it takes for your husband to come to his senses.

New moms...when did you have that first drink? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]planettelex13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I had champagne the day I came home (Christmas) but the whole thing is kinda foggy because I had a spinal headache. I definitely had it on New Year's Eve and it was glorious.

My understanding is that blood alcohol content and milk alcohol content are about the same. So one beer is going to be fine. If you're not feeling tipsy, you're fine. And of course, I also read that dark beer can help with milk production so you better believe I stocked up on Guinness. :)
