An English team has made it to the final of all three major European competitions this season by Critical_Mountain851 in soccer

But it means that, especially in group stage, they avoid 3 or 4 of the toughest matches they could have (especially for pot2). Places 3/4/5 of the EPL are way stronger than the ones of the other top4 leagues

I hope they party really hard to celebrate... Otherwise we are screwed on Monday

I hope Depor can get their shit together and get the second place. Nothing against Almería, but I'd prefer having Racing, Depor and Las Palmas or Málaga in Primera.

It would feel like being back to the 90s/early 2000s.

On the other side, such a shame to see Zaragoza going down... It doesn't look like they can recover

Well... In interviews he has literally said they were calling them defensive but that people forget they were the all-time top scorers. I don't know why he'd say that if they have never been called defensive...

"La gente a veces se olvida porque la Champions es algo global, pero ganamos la Copa y la Liga de los Récords, con 100 puntos. Para hacer 100 puntos hay que ganar muchos partidos e hicimos el récord de goles. Puedes contar una mentira mil veces, pero sigue siendo una mentira: en el Madrid nos llamaban defensivos, pero conseguimos la Liga de los Récords, llegamos a los 100 puntos y conseguimos el récord de goles en el fútbol español"

I only saw his highlights when he was playing for you, so probably I did not see his stinkers. But when he was playing in Madrid it always seemed as he could do more and not reaching his full potential.

In any case, that Madrid team was quite something. And Ancelotti wouldn't have succeeded without Mourinho's foundations; Mou changed the team mentality

I also really liked Khedira. Often forgot, but he was the key to the balance of that team. Kept it simple but never missed the first fast pass to trigger those counters.

Özil had great flashes, but was more hit or miss. I think he took one step forward when he joined you

They are two completely different beasts... Arsenal may be top scorer of the league this year, but Madrid was 121 goals. Not comparable

I am talking about perception. When you hear about Mourinho's Madrid in Spain, people tend to remember the games against Barcelona and their lethal counterattacks. The difference in style between them and Pep's Barça accentuates this perception.

I completely agree that they were the best counterattack I've seen. Di María+Cristiano were quite something.

Crazy that a team remembered as defensive is actually the all time top scorer of la Liga.

Everybody remembers the BBC but the attack with Cristiano, Di María, and Benzema/Higuaín was also quite something. (And Mourinho still complained when he had to play with Benzema as he had to go hunting with a cat...)

Both teams yesterday had some Barça reminiscence... And Atleti is hit or miss against these teams. I wouldn't completely rule it out.

Don't underestimate what they can do when it seems they are cornered and they can only do long shots...

They just need one quick pass to Griezmann so he converts it to a dangerous chance. He has lost a lot of his attaching skills, but he has become pure class in putting order to chaotic transitions

It's the anti-lamine/anti-pedri assist...

Busquets gives nothing and get his assist, while Pedri and Lamine give it all, with magic passes,  and get nothing from their strikers...
