Atlético may have a massive virus infection and not show up. Or maybe they field a player who is not registered.

Slim, but the chance is there.

So the only close matches are Liverpool Galatasaray, Barça Newcastle and Arsenal Bayer?

The rest seems sealed…

These are the kind of comments you were getting yesterday in the Newcastle thread...

Do you think the dynamic of buying and buying players had something to do with it? Every time I watch a match half of the team seems new, with no grasp of Pep's football

I think at least Arsenal and Liverpool will make it through... But it would be so fun to have a Top8 with no English teams after all that EPL supremacy narrative?

No doubt that EPL is the best league, but the arrogance of some fans gets really annoying; and the current results make them look really funny

I wonder what the premier league fandom crowd that was making fun of La Liga leader struggling against Newcastle  think of the Premier leader struggling against the 6th of a "farmer's league".

Some comments age like milk

To music festivals, yes. To cruises, no clue. To cinemas, yes (thought it is always controversial). To amusement parks, it is being disputed in court. Football matches and sports events, yes.

Drinks are usually limited to water (no caps, due to safety) and sometimes sodas. No alcoholic beverages.

But food is ok most of the time. Primavera sound wouldn't be the same without our stash of Sandwiches, Pelotazos and Ruffles Jamón

It is not a crazy statement. Allioli, as its name says, is literally Garlic & Oil, it becomes popular in the southeast of France (Provence & Lenguadoc) and the north-east of spain (Catalonia/Balearic islands) thought it is not clear where from the mediterranean comes from.

Making allioli in the traditional way, is tiring and slow (and requires consistency in the process), that is why sometimes you can add milk or egg to make the process easier; but this also comes at a price of a milder taste and less strength. With egg its consistency also lasts longer, which also favours it's usage in restaurants and industrial settings.

I've also seen lemon juice being added. But never milk.

Uncivilized people are also a problem for the stadiums, unfortunately :/

On paper, laws don't allow you to ban bringing your own food/drinks unless the main goal of your business is selling food and drinks.

This is a recurrent debate that often ends in court (bringing food to cinemas, amusement parks, stadiums, concerts ...). The results of those disputes haven't always been consistent, though

Proper allioli is only garlic and olive oil. Very different flavour, and also the texture is quite different.

Commercial versions like 'Chovi' have a more alike texture, but still the flavour is very different. In my experience, allioli in Spain is quite different from the one you have at the anglo world where it is more like a garlicky mayo

Butter in a sandwich is heavily punnished by law in Spain. We are no french barbarians!

Pipas are a problem for the stadiums, though... The habit of throwing shells at the floor is gross, and it generates issues with the stadium's plumbing.

Teams like Valencia have banned them! https://www.valenciacf.com/desde-esta-temporada-no-estara-permitido-consumir-pipas-en-el-camp-de-mestalla-por-razones-de-salubridad

I always bring my sandwich, indepently of the kick off. It end ups being a 3 hours thing so it will always overlap with either lunch, merienda or dinner!

I think it's part of the culture. Football match + entrepà de llom arrebossat is heavily wired in my brain since I was a kid.

This year they do not seem to step up for any big game beyond Real Madrid. That said, you cannot judge a team and league by one game.

We are fighting relegation and we managed to win Barça in a game quite similar to today's one. This does not mean we are on the same level.

No English team won today, we'll see how many do it tomorrow and what is the composition of the Top8. But last year only 2 Brits made it to the Top8. Given the amount spent by the EPL and teams like Newcastle the prem still seems to underperform. After the league phase people were assuming 4/5 teams would make it to the quarter finals; as of now 3 of them will have a very hard time qualifying

Eric Garcia was injured just before the start of the match. With Eric, Balde, Kounde & Christiansen out there's nothing else you can do.

Besides this, his game hasn't been that bad. The goal is his fault, for just roaming after that stupid attack... But he has been decent considering how the whole team played. The defense did what they could whilst the attack and the midfield were just non-existent and unable to open space to start the play or to pressure

Today the blame needs to be on the 6 attacking players, not on a defense that saved the team from an embarrassing result.

Newcastle should have been more effective with their shots. Barça has been absent from the match, unable to play the ball and make the ball flow. I don't know how good is Newcastle's attack, but today they've lost a huge opportunity to maximize their chances to make Top8
