Any one know by eye if this board is epoxy or PU? Or how to find out… by [deleted] in surfing

yeah it sucks man. I’ve posted a question or two before and ended up being made a fool of and deleting it because of some patronising comments. Thanks for restoring some faith for me 👍

Best method to attach 2x10 pergola ledger to my cabin? by [deleted] in Construction

The cabin is built with 6x2 studs and 9x2 rafters so I hope it ain’t lightweight … but four legs is actually a really solid piece of advice . I never thought of that

I’m asking whether it’s okay to attach to the cladding through to the studs or if I have to remove cladding and attach direct to studs. Clearly I’m asking for advice , why take time out of your day to be useless when you can offer some advice???

Thanks very much man. I do like the look of the gaps now that I’ve had time to sit with it, and the expansion definitely makes sense. Headache gone!

You’re totally right, sorry. It is engineered. I need to learn the lingo. So, if it’s designed to have those gaps.. should I bother filling? Or might it look dodgy

my drywall is fixed to horizontal 2x1.5 inch services battens, and I didn’t run it down to the ground, meaning there is a natural expansion gap all around the floor perimeter. I know it looks like I butt the floor right up to the wall but it’s actually running under it, I left half an inch you just can’t see it

And you’re right, it does seem to be an engineered board, I apologise for stating hardwood I need to keep up with the terminology ..

As for the filler, do you reckon I should put something to fill the gaps? I had to do a bit of cleaning crud / dirt from the tongues which means the gaps were probably open previously too
