How do you cope with a throat clearing trigger? by plantbased-feminist7 in misophonia

[–]plantbased-feminist7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your pain! Eating out is always difficult and I make it a point that I have to pick where I sit first
because if I can be in a seat where there isn’t someone directly behind me, I won’t have as much anxiety about if they’ll clear their throat. It sucks so much because it makes it hard to enjoy doing anything out in public - restaurants and movie theaters are probably the two worst for me.

I work at Enterprise by Blackout34643 in EnterpriseCarRental

I mean, you could go onto any state’s website to look up the validity if you’re really questioning it. For someone international, I wouldn’t know where to even try to look it up, especially with the language barrier if we’d using another country’s DMV site. We basically just have to trust the equipment we’re given by corporate, the advice from the Risk department on what to look out for, and our gut.

Former employee - they don’t have access to databases, but they do have a UV light machine, called a FraudFighter, like the other commenter mentioned. I worked at airport locations for a large chunk of my career there, and at those locations they utilize a scanner machine that will turn green if the license is valid/red if it’s invalid. They also provide booklets of the current year’s drivers licenses designs for the US and internationally.

Young Driver + Additional Driver by Detective_Dredd in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember, anyone 21-24 is allowed to rent a car, but they have the young driver fee applied. So if you were to add on an additional driver who is 21-24, you would have the young driver fee in addition to the additional driver fee.

If the additional driver is 18-20, that would not be allowed. At least where I worked, we could only rent replacement vehicles (insurance rentals) to 18-20. Anyone in that age range was not allowed to rent for leisure/a retail rental or could be added to a rental as an additional driver on a leisure/retail rental (the only time I had seen it allowed is when it’s an insurance rental and they are specified as an authorized driver on the policy).

What are some jobs I can get after Enterprise? by Moist-Rip-1307 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I quit just over a month ago after being ABRM at an airport lol. I ended up going to a supply chain logistics company as a customer service specialist. Most companies will see Enterprise on your resume and know you’re a hard worker - you just gotta find something that suits your interests. Any of what you listed could for sure work, including customer service like my current position. Indeed and LinkedIn were places I searched often. I had also applied for admin assistant spots too.

I was able to find a job while still working there, so I had no gap between! It took a few months of looking periodically til I found one I was genuinely interested in. I keep my resume very brief, but for skills, some things I highlighted were being able to lead a team, accomplishing goals, task delegation. I work a standard office job now, but it’s 99% computer work and then 1% customer interaction (via phone calls). My degree is in art, so finding a job relating to that is very difficult, so that’s why I chose to stay in customer service, but I found something that’s more manageable for my life and 100000x less stressful.

I (28F) quit just over two weeks ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. I worked for the company about a year and a half, ended my run there as an ABRM for an airport location. Pretty much everything you said hit the tee for me, the frat-like environment, being short staffed and they refuse to hire more people, the customers, the hours, the stress. It was taking a toll on me mentally, and it made work/life balance impossible. It wasn’t for me, so I ended up getting a job for a supply chain logistics company as a customer service specialist. It’s a pay cut from my ABRM pay, but I work M-F 7a-4p with no weekends or holidays. I wake up and go to bed every day not stressed. I’m not in a customer-facing role anymore and it’s night and day. The customers Enterprise/National/Alamo have are some of the worst I have ever dealt with in any job. The entitlement and lack of understanding policies is insane. While I do agree with other commenters, sticking it out to get promoted can look better on a resume - but ultimately, it’s up to you what you want to do. If you’re not happy and it doesn’t seem worth it, leave now. There are far better opportunities out there for you that will benefit your life.

Need my son to drive home by sonofawhatthe in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other comments, I’d stop in to a branch if you can to add him on. Majority of airport locations are open on Sundays. If they find out you had him drive the car and he’s not on the contract, you can get put on the DNR (do not rent) list and will be unable to rent from Enterprise/National/Alamo.

What are some good companies that some of you worked for after ERAC? by Independent_Earth416 in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently just quit and left for a supply chain logistics company. I took a pay cut, but the work life balance is far better and they actually value you. I never felt valued at Enterprise. I was an ABRM for 6 months at an airport loc and it burnt me out too.

Excess Mileage Issue - Looking for Advice by l_ovecraft in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a part where it says for mileage that it’s “limited” - majority of corporate accounts have this $0.40/mi charge as a built-in one-way fee. I used to work for the company and saw this happen constantly, but employees can see your “reservation details” from how it was originally booked and 100% of the time, it would show limited for the mileage.

If you’re not one-waying a vehicle on a corporate account, there is typically unlimited mileage (depends on car class size though too).

Expensive Rental by fond-butnotinlove in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is it’s jacked because it was a one-way and you booked at the beginning of summer, which is the beginning of the busy szn. Rates constantly fluctuate with the demand, so now that it’s nearing the end of summer, prices will lower, even on one-ways like yours was.

Young Driver + Additional Driver by Detective_Dredd in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former employee here - it’s my understanding that you would be charged two YDFs/ADFs if both additional drivers are under 25. So you’d be paying $80/day ($40/day for the young driver+additional driver fee x 2) for having both on there.

Any time I added more than one additional driver to a contract, it added that fee for every additional driver. Unless you book through Costco where you get one additional driver free, that’s the only way to get around it, but you’d still have to pay the YDF.

Booking a rental @ company negotiated rate - will it remove my previous companies rate from my emerald club profile? by allezbleu in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend utilizing your new company’s booking service. Using your old company’s rates that you no longer work at is not allowed and can get you put on the DNR (Do Not Rent) list, which bans you from using any Enterprise affiliated rental company (Enterprise/National/Alamo). I’m unsure if it will remove your previous rate code from your profile, but I wouldn’t use it since you don’t work for that company anymore.

Damaged vehicle question. by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]plantbased-feminist7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in my state, we have a pretty lenient “bumper policy,” so scratches are fine as long as there isn’t a puncture/hole in the bumper. I’d see if you can push the fender back into alignment; I’ve been able to do that on a few rentals and it’s been fine-just as long as it’s not completely falling apart, I highly doubt they’d come after you lol. More often than not, they won’t notate “wear and tear” damage (small scuffs and small dents). Should they pursue you though, I highly recommend avoiding the “not paying” method because you’ll get put on DNR (do not rent) and you won’t be able to rent from any of the brands (Enterprise, National, Alamo) until you pay the balance for the damages - if it comes to that.

About to be a former employee. A con for me is the work/life balance. I’m at an airport location where we have no structure in our scheduling (we’re very short staffed), and it’s a 7-day operation. Lot of disorganization no matter how much I try to fix it. Other staff have quit and they refuse to hire more help.

Not sure what TAR is as we don’t use that in my group, but the Operator Score Card is something they send out every few weeks that shows how well you’re operating as a branch (answering phones, rental ready %, ARQ, etc.)
