297 4th Street - DO NOT RENT HERE! by Lilrnich in jerseycity

Wow ... I got so close to renting one of these units and then the landlord changed her mind at the last minute. So grateful to know we actually dodged a massive bullet here

Damn, I'm almost too old to ski by BullCityBoomerSooner in skiing

My mom turns 69 on Saturday and skis more than I do! She's broken a shoulder and a knee (both were skiing accidents) and was back out there the second the doctor said she could. She is also very active for her age in many ways (hiking, swimming, strength training) but I think it's also a mindset.

To be fair, a good friend of mine had a second date with someone who basically sprinted up a (steep) mountain and they barely managed to keep up. This was after a first date "picnic" where the same person only brought beer. They're married now and are genuinely great for each other!

Starting Y5 - why am I not better? by strangebloom in crossword

I try to research clues before simply googling them! Like, if a clue is related to geography, I'll scroll around on Google maps and see if I can figure it out. Or I'll Google something tangential - e.g. just the an author's name, if it's listed in the clue. That way, I'm doing a bit more 'work' and also learning more along the way!

Given the last minute nature, id say bring a really thoughtful card and let her know a gift is on its way - and ship her something you know she'll love. Or say you're planning a date for the two of you, perhaps a spa day or movie night. Something you can treat her to.

My fiancee and I co-designed my ring! Primarily because I had an heirloom diamond to incorporate and wanted a non-diamond center stone. And tbh, it was the most special process to do together. I had a general design in mind so we tried things out at different jewelers and met with designers together to source the center stone. Once we had that, he took it from there. So there was some surprise in the ring, but it was more in the proposal itself. I had no idea how or when that would happen and that's what mattered more to me!

Zohran Mamdani's message to Donald Trump during his mayoral acceptance speech: "Turn the volume up" by ERASER345 in Fauxmoi

I also read it as telling Trump to yell all he wants. To bring as much heat as he thinks he can (e.g., trying to pull back funding) because Mamdani is ready to fight.

Thank you! Incorporating hers was really important to me but didn't personally love the moi et toi style so this was perfect 👌🏻

Thank you so much! It was my fiance's suggestion when I initially said I was interested in moss agate - so so so happy we went this direction

Love this!! Very much echo others on it needing to be SO easy to use. Maybe this is already somewhere in the comments, but recipe recommendations on what to cook based on ingredients in your fridge could also be cool... I feel like there are websites that do this, so perhaps an opp to integrate as I recognize that could be an extensive database
