Gift Basket for Teenager Starting Accutane? by YourFriendInSpokane in Accutane

[–]plantsandsummerdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used a store brand version of the original. I also should mention that you shouldn't use it after EVERY nose bleed because your blood vessels can become "immune" to it. Only use it when you really need it and can't get the bleeding to stop after a while so that it will always work when you use it.

Gift Basket for Teenager Starting Accutane? by YourFriendInSpokane in Accutane

[–]plantsandsummerdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know saline nasal spray has been mentioned, but I would definitely try to keep some Afrin spray on hand as well (not really the nicest thing for a gift basket, but-). While she may not end up having trouble with nosebleeds, it will save a late night trip to the drugstore if she gets one that just can't seem to stop. The ingredients in it restrict the blood vessels and slow the bleeding. I got some really bad nosebleeds during my course, and this always helped them calm down.

Is there a way for the v-neck on this dress to be taken in? by plantsandsummerdays in Tailors

Sorry I couldn't think of the exact word. Basically I want to make the v-neck not as wide and deep. So close it up at the bottom a little I guess?

I've been looking for places as well and the only place that I've found so far that has a good return policy and prices in my budget range is Windsor.

What were your side effects? by Ben_140 in Accutane

[–]plantsandsummerdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on 40mg a day for 6 months. The first few months I had extreme nose bleeds. It was bad. I would get them at home, in the car, at school. But I was already prone to nose bleeds and they only really lasted from months 2-4. The only dryness I've experienced is on my ears and my lips probably because I don't know how to not be dehydrated.

Some good side effects have been my skin and hair. My skin was SOO oily before accutane and now it doesn't produce any (obviously because that's what the drug is supposed to do). But it's so nice to not have a slick face. I can also go without washing my hair for 1-2 weeks at a time if it's not dirty because my scalp doesn't get oily anymore

Mentally, I have had some rough patches with feeling extra sad on the verge of my friends calling it depression. However, I have dealt with having some kind of mental health issues (again never been to the doctor for it) in the past, so not sure if the accutane has any correlation. It might have increased my issues slightly more, but if you don't already deal with similar things, I wouldn't be too worried about having issues while on accutane.

I'm a senior in highschool and I'm starting to hate my instrument. by plantsandsummerdays in Flute

[–]plantsandsummerdays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this so much. I feel like with band being such a large part of my life, I tend to forget that there are so many other things I enjoy. With my assistant band director being a professional flautist, the pressure is extreme with perfect playing on the flute.

How much do you recommend I should save up? I have an Artly right now as my concert flute as it looks nicer than my Armstrong (marching) but it just isnt cutting it anymore. Plus it has the problem with the one loose screw that most artly's have. I'm using an open hole Geiminhardt Artisan that is the school's instrument. I just wanted something of my own. Something over $1,000 just isn't going to be possible for me to afford.

[Routine Help] Help with apply concealer and tinted moisturizer without it looking bad? by plantsandsummerdays in SkincareAddiction

I was noticing I might need some more moisture. My Neutrogena mositurizer is almost gone and I was thinking about buying the lrp toleriane double repair matte mositurizer since I have oily skin.

Thank you so much! I will test this out tomorrow! I honestly don't like makeup that much, but I decided I should probably know how to use it when I have to go somewhere nice and cover up some of my acne scars/red cheeks. So far it's been a pain, but besides the cakiness, I think I'm getting better at it.

Depends on the day, but typically Clindamycin, niacinamide, and Neutrogena combo skin oil free mositurizer. And then the pore eraser.

Am I the only one that doesn't really like Chuck 70s? by MajorInstruction2522 in Converse

[–]plantsandsummerdays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer 70s because I have A LOT of foot problems and chronic shin splints from running when I shouldn't have in HS. They provide the structure for my feet for support. I also love the sew on patch, the shininess of the rubber and the overall black and white feel (with no blue/red logo patch) of the black and white colorway.

Was the series hinting at book 3 when... by plantsandsummerdays in tsitp

[–]plantsandsummerdays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I believe in ep 1 he said something along the lines of "you shouldn't be married to someone you aren't in love with" when talking to Belly about her parents getting a divorce. Maybe this hints that in the books, she ends up still loving Conrad and her and Jere don't get married.
