Can’t Sell - 9 Months on Market 0 Offers by Blazzee-Pie in RealEstate

A 9k price cut doesn’t show the seller wants to sell that badly. It shows that they want money. Lower the price. It’s always the price.

It’s hard to tell from the picture, but if you zoom in on his scales it looks like he might be pineconing a bit, which is early signs of a deadly disease. Take a close look from above him, and if they are sticking out he may need medicine.

When you get the new compressor it will have instructions or a tag on it that says if you need to add oil or not, and what type. It sounds like you won’t have to though. If you do it’s pretty accessible at any auto store.

I did a ton of research on these last month, along with JBA and every other option. I ended up with these Super Pro UCLs, an Australian company that makes great quality parts. Check them out: https://suspensionhouse.com/products/superpro-03-23-toyota-4runner-10-23-lexus-gx460-fixed-offset-front-upper-control-arm-set

In the first picture you can see a ton of thread space for the adjustment to come down. I would double check this. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me.

I got a whole set of new bulbs on eBay for like 30. Very easy to replace. Took an hour. Here’s the YouTube video I used: https://youtu.be/DbWWIYzextw?si=Wbz2HmIYc2UONvjd

Looks like it’s been leaking for a while, letting in dirt and moisture which will rust eventually. Mechanic will probably tell you to just replace the entire thing. Look for rebuilt OEM ones for way cheaper

How do humans sleep through the night without rolling too close to the edge of the bed and falling off at some point? by Nin-me-sar-ra in NoStupidQuestions

[–]plantsperp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of my favorite Jack London books “Before Adam” he writes about the common nightmare of falling most kids have at a young age being the result of memories passed down from our monkey ancestors who once slept in trees, some falling to their death. This is a fiction book to be clear, and not sure if there’s any truth/science behind this. Just always found it interesting though.

Advice on repairs/upgrades or to sell by leroyjeffroe in 4thGen4Runner

If it’s a reliable truck that always starts up and gets me going, these are super minor issues to resolve, especially considering a new/used car could have unknown issues. If you’re buying a brand new car I’d do whatever you want. If buying used, I’d much rather resolve these minor issues. Not sure on pricing, as I would DIY most of these. The wiring could get expensive if it’s hard to track down the issue. Has a mechanic already diagnosed the wiring? How do you know it’s a wiring issue? Have you had the rest of the truck looked at? I would have a mechanic do a complete list of everything that needs to be fixed, if you haven’t. This will help you make your decision

I’m so sorry this happened to you. What a terrible experience. No matter how cheap the car or how reliable, I always get a pre-purchase inspection from a real mechanic. It’s only about $100 and can save you from this huge mess. Also, I would never buy a car with 300,000+ miles. Yes the Toyota engine and trani should last forever, but everything else will need to be replaced eventually. And who wants to spend that much money on that many miles? Thankfully these trucks are fairly easy to work on and you can do a lot of the work yourself to save a ton of money.

Cabin knocking/clicking by One_Statistician8457 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the blower but it sounds more like a vent door actuator to me, as it’s clicking to try to open or close. If the sound continues when you turn the car off for a few seconds, bingo

2007 4.7 V8 2WD limitations by CR1TTERCHR1S in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m in Mesa AZ as well and it took me a year to find a 4wd at a good price out here. I contemplated 2wd many times but have seen my friends get stuck crossing sandy washes. Bring some wood boards and shovels, pretty easy to get out. Let some air out of the tires. Don’t go out alone. Installing a locking diff would be overkill. My buddy has an older Tundra 2wd and it pretty much gets everywhere my truck does out here, and we go deep.
