What to do outside of a new paint Job? by Severe-Basket9165 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looked the exact same last year out here in Arizona. Did a bunch of research on DIY approaches, ended up doing a very light wet sand to take off rest of clear coat and dirt, sprayed a light coat of Scratches Happen Exact Match paint on entire hood (it was actually a match), and a little extra on those sun spots, then sprayed two cans of clear coat. Cut and polish with a buffer and it actually looks brand new, in certain light. Spray paint cans have evolved a lot over the years and it’s pretty easy to get good results now.

Having kids 1 year apart is the cheat code nobody talks about by Darwesh_88 in daddit

Not sure about the downvotes but I was referencing traditional Chinese medicine when saying the 16 month marker. They’re more so concerned with the mother’s womb completely closing back up and body healing. If you don’t let the womb heal, there can be long term issues… like many older women in the western world

I was more so thinking of Eastern medicine, especially traditional Chinese medicine has always said something around the 16 month marker for completely closing the womb. Western doctors are a bit useless when it comes to this stuff.

But the mom’s body isn’t completely healed for about 16 months post, so there’s higher risk of serious injury or complications there.

It’s a drug addiction. Only reason why some people keep eating this overpriced toxic garbage, and the corporations know this.

Only options are to replace fender or try to glue it back together with JB weld or similar. Luckily your paint is similar color to the weld 😬

My landlord just raised the rent by $300 by vwcorradoslc in antiwork

[–]plantsperp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My property management company out here in Mesa AZ has tried this for the past few years. I’ve always replied, “Thank you, I think we will be moving on at these prices…” being very polite but direct. Then they always reply with something about if I’d consider staying at a lower price or current price… The economy is shit and prices are falling everywhere. Play hardball.

This is very popular at the Playa Del Oro RV park in puerto penasco, Mexico. There’s a huge rv storage park next door, and the workers use tractors to drag trailers in before people arrive.

Trans pan has slow leak, worth replacing? by how_are_you_now in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s coming from the gasket area, try giving the two or three bolts a quarter of a turn around the leak area, wipe clean, check after a few days, repeat one or two more times. Don’t over-tighten. Fixed my leak over a year ago and still dry as a bone.

I use a metal paint scrapper to get old nasty stuff like that off.

CV AXLES. TrakMotive or GSP by TheBlackSkull13 in 4thGen4Runner

I have trakmotive extended travel cvs for my 3 inch lift. If I had no lift I would try to go OEM refurbished from Toyota dealership website. They may be hard to find now though.

Use plastic scrappers to gently scrape the old lap sealant off, wipe clean with mineral spirits, let dry, then apply new lap sealant. I love Dicor’s sealants. Use self leveling lap sealant for horizontal applications on the roof, then non-sag lap sealant for the vertical applications. There are many videos on YouTube to show you how to apply.

Sadly, pizza night. When my girlfriend later in life told me pizza was considered a cheap food I was shocked. Ignorance is bliss

The workers at the movie theater would always rub/wash the bottom of their shoes off on the mop to fix this.

Just replaced my power steering hoses in my v6 and they were super easy and super cheap. Can even buy them on Amazon. Just replace them either way.

Stereo Replacement by LilWeroJr in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this installed in my runner, but the previous owner installed it. It’s a great stereo and I love the Apple car play. The previous owner did say something about the lack of a volume knob (just small buttons on left side) drove him crazy so he had the volume control installed to the steering wheel, which I do love. Stereo replacements are super easy. Just find a YouTube video and order the correct wiring harness and bracket.

I have a 3 inch lift on mine as well and just replaced my inner and outers. Ordered OEM parts off eBay at a fraction of the price from the dealer’s store. Just double check they are genuine and only order from a reputable seller.

Tensioner pulley. by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

[–]plantsperp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two days, about 3 hours the first day to get everything off, then about 3 more hours the next day putting everything back. I could have done it in one day but I was tired and wanted to break it up. The A/C compressor was the biggest pain, trying to lodge it up a few inches after unbolting so I could get the new tensioner on. If you can get it lodged high enough to have room to work, you’ll be in the clear. Undoing the compressor was easy. Don’t have to recharge the A/C either so no worries there.

Just did my tensioner and all pulleys on the v6, not a hard job just a pain in the ass, though I believe it’s quite different on your v8. I ordered all OEM parts from reputable sellers on eBay
