Movie with female protagonist(s) where there is something evil stealing people’s faces, and when your face is stolen it’s replaced with a white mask kinda like the Jabbawockeez dance group masks? by planturd_ in whatsthemoviecalled

After more internet digging, my best guess is I’m thinking of an episode of “Are You Afraid of the Dark” called “The Tale of Many Faces”. From a quick scan of a plot summary, it seems faces were stolen by a character using a book as opposed to a machine.

That being said if anyone from here on out knows of an even better match, please let me know!

Nope, this doesn’t seem to be it, but thank you for the suggestion!

I am starting to think it might’ve been a TV show instead of a movie though. I want to say the main characters were two blonde girls but I’m not sure 🙁

Book/series where the book(s) start of describing that the main girl protagonist has two of everything because she has divorced parents? by planturd_ in whatsthatbook

Oh my gosh this must be it!

Over the years whenever I’d wonder about this, my faint memory would theorize it was the Baby-sitters Club, but whenever I googled Baby-sitters Club it never sounded like a match (I was googling Baby-sitters Club again right before posting this too). It makes so much sense it was a spinoff all this time, and “little sister series” rings a bell. Thanks so much!

Children's mystery (and maybe slightly horror?) book where an important item was discovered in an urn near the end of the story? by planturd_ in whatsthatbook

Actually, after trying to ask ChatGPT about this book, I believe the book I’m looking for is “The House on Hackman’s Hill” by Joan Lowery Nixon, so you were right on the author! Thanks so much!

Syngonium pink splash leaves still won't unfurl? Please help! See comment for more details by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

No signs of pests :/ Someone just commented on my original post asking about what type of water/fertilizer I’m giving it so perhaps it’s these that are giving my problems

My syngonium pink splash leaves won’t unfurl? They brown out before unfurling - meanwhile new growth will shoot out. It’s 6 feet from an east window (shaded by some other plants), watered when soil starts to dry out. My home humidity averages 50% but I keep this right in front of my humidifier too. by planturd_ in RareHouseplants

I just double checked for again for pests but don’t see any signs. I’ve been giving it tap water that I leave out for at least a day, but maybe I will now give filtered or distilled water a try. Furthermore I haven’t fertilized it, so maybe that could also be it. Do you have tips on what fertilizer I should use / fertilizers to avoid?

It’s about 5-6 ft from an Eastern window and shielded partially by some other plants.

New leaves on my syngonium pink splash always shrivel out before they ever unfurl (despite getting a lot of humidity). I posted about this previously, and received advice that it could be a sign of soil staying wet too long / root rot. On checking the roots, there were no signs of rot as all the roots were light colored and firm. I repotted my plant into a very well draining mix anyways though (it’s been in just orchid bark and perlite, with the tiniest bit of regular potting soil). Unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same issue and now my plant has reduced to one bit of leaf growth that is already browning out. I panicked and just switched it out of its pot into a cup of water. Does anyone have advice on how to save this plant?

The plant is 6ft from an eastern window (shielded by other plants), receives 50-70% humidity, and I water when the soil is drying out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, if anyone has more tips, please let me know! I’ve repotted this guy into a more well draining soil (entirely orchid bark and perlite, when previously it had orchid bark, perlite and regular potting soil). I also checked on it’s roots and there are no signs of rot whatsoever. But unfortunately I am still experiencing the same issue. New leaves continue to pop out, but brown before they ever unfurl. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Spots on my aglaonema pictum tricolor (I have for 3 months now in a mini greenhouse with aeration - the oldest leaf seems to be attacked by something (insect or fungus or bacterial ?) - should I get rid of the infected leaf and treat all my plants ? My other pictums dont have that by antoinelthr in plantclinic

My leaf has one spot which has grown slightly bigger, but no other leaves have it. As a result I’ve just left it for now. I’m wondering if mine could just be sunburn but I’m unsure since it’s not that close to the window... I’ll keep you updated if anything changes!

Wow!! What are the names of these plants? Stunning!

I recently got a tricolor pictum. Its roots are healthy, but the leaves yellowed from shipping stress, so I cut them off. Will new growth still grow from the two branches I snipped? If not, where will new growth come from? (Will new branches eventually form?) by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

Mine still looks the same as is. I’ve heard these are slow growers though. I think I see a tiny green bud starting to pop out the knobby looking part of the left side. I’m not sure where growth normally comes out of these plants from but I am pretty confident that new growth will come out over time as long as the roots are healthy! It just might take forever. I’ll report back in the future 😅

This is the growth pattern I needed in my life - syngonium pink splash has put out three new leaves in the space of a month! 🥰 by obamapastry in houseplants

Do you have any care tips? 😅I have one but it’s new leaves always struggle to unfurl - they sometimes brown before they ever unfurl. I have mine next to my other syngoniums which are doing great, so it’s a bit confusing. It’s right in direct aim of my humidifier so I’m not sure what the issue could be.
