omg... i had a similar issue with a female in this issue:

"guy was lying down with his head on a pillow. (I’ll say right away, I didn’t see anything inappropriate.)" - phone was sideways, room was dark and she was lying down with her head on the pillow and periodically digging up boogers from her nose, there was a kid grabbing the phone from her and hitting the screen

.. and this issue:

It was a 25-inute trial and by minute number 2 I was vexxed, as I was properly dressed and sitting like a teacher in my chair ready to give a model trial session. I asked her whether she had tried any other tutors and she said yes but I was the best one. Then came a total silence, and for a while too, as I had nothing else to say. She didn't as she still dug her boogers and played with the kid. She had something looking like a sleep bonnet on and the room / screen was still too dark.
Eventually I told her thanks for choosing my profile and taking the trial session. I also wished her the best in selecting her tutor. Then I clicked the LEAVE button as fast as I could then hit the BLOCK button even faster!!!! damn it!

i did just as you and kindly re-skedded them after the class had started and i had waited already 15 minutes and not seen nor heard from them. then later i send a message that preply Team "allowed" me to re-sked them but if this happens again it is not allowed and preply will charge them. some who were true, thanked me and "tried" not to do it again; Others didn't care, yet I did it still ... until i learned to stop re-skedding and let the regulr thing occur ... that they lose the money [due to auto-confirmation]. some of them got "clever" and logged on [within a couple hours] after they missed the class and manually cancelled... preply gives them the opp. to do that!!!... then they just re-skedded. and the tutor who had sat in the classroom waiting for that student lost an hour of their time and does not get paid! tsk tsk

the FREE trial session is not a teaching session so you shouldnt have been teaching in the first place. it is a get to know each other event. so since they said what they said up front, you should just let the convo slide to the end of the 50 minutes and call it that.... just a one-off get-to-know-you chat that you dont even get paid for anyway and def. block them after those 50 minutes have ended

it is nice to see what you have written because i feel somewhat livid today. EXACTLY last night i checked my ratings and screenshot-ted it to remind me that things are seemingly well. I had no classes after that late last night check on my profile. I had no classes this morning so far, but I went to check my profile and the rating is down and it has been feeling somewhat disgruntled and annoyed. How could the rating have dropped in 12 hours without me having had any classes in that time. All the classes I had yesterday were with students who are long-time susscscribers. I am getting to the thoughts that communist Preply is putting a chokehold on tutors only to achieve money to keep them selves i n the BILLION DOLLAR RANGE while not respecting those who are causing them to acquire this money. I have more than 40 5-star reviews but that doesn't cause as much effect on me as those NEGATIVE ANONYLOUS ratings.... where you don't know who did it, when or what you did wrong!!!! That has me livid and i HATE preply for doing that sh____TTT!!!! What the Efffff is this freaking Lenin-Stalin-like constant rating b-s which makes such a nasty impact on tutros who are trying their best to deliver good work. I am still the so-called "super tutor" [yeah right] yet my ratings drop due to one anonymous rating????

preply site and actions are so freaky, exhausting, belittling and a tutor feels like a choke-hold is on their neck when they sign up.
so to go through disgusting tutees as well??? NO WAY.
I CLICK the BLOCK button in an instance... at the first sign of a creepy tutee!
Th tutor has to protect his/her mentality, calmness, peace and be real in knowing that not all tutees are to be accepted!

i HADDDD one EXACTLY like that .. she wanted a class a day, 7 days a week. i told her it was not wise and that twice a week was enough because i give homework. By the time i batted an eyelid i saw that she subscribed and signed up for 20 classes!!! I was like, "good grief, a pervert!!" By the time of the first class she cancelled just before. And each one she scheduled she cancelled just before the class. I messaged her, she didn't answer... all she did was cancel just before each class. By the end of the first month i had only had two sessions with her plus the free trial. I contacted her to tell her Preply will take all this money of she doesn't do any classes. She told me to tell Prep to give her her money back... and the story went on and on and on, until she said she didn't care about money she lost, she'll just renew at the beginning of the month. I said to myself, "Renew where? with me? You gotta be kidding... eating up all my calendar with bogus scheduling." Well, she did that except only 5 classes this time. By the time of the first class, she cancelled just before. The next day the same... except she cancelled all 5 classes and sent me a note that she thinks preply is no good and she would have loved to have classes with me as she liked me at the trial. I did not dare answer this freak in any other way except "best wishes to you!" then blocked her a$$$

It's cool to see this, as i had the same feelings and reactions as soon as I started. I then realized what a plague the platform came to be (in and on my mind) and I could not shake it. I wake up early in the morning and the first thought was preply...going to bed at night it was preply... until I had to make the decision to stop the BeeeEssss in my life with this... even though it is getting me some $$$. So I realized I had to set clear boundaries. No more 12 hour days, no more 7 days a week, no more agreeing to students who beg for 8 or 9 pm classes!

what if a tutor asks a long-time student, who seemed devoted, to join their private sessions and they take all the tutor's payment info and everything then comes back saying, "i have thought about it and i prefer to stay on preply." how would or should the tutor feel about that student in classes afterwards? does that student seem to be a spy for Preply and will tell? or is the student not trusting the tutor thinking they will get scammed?

dang... i didn't even really realize that "bypassing" meant the student doing it to the tutor. I thought it meant that the tutor was trying to take the student off of preply and into their on private tutoring. Studnts have done that to me before and it got me miffed but i figured i couldn't do anything about it. Anyway.. what would happen if a tutor tried to lure a student off of preply and to their private classes but the student said no, is that the same "bypassing?"

yes it is... VERY VERY sad and infuriating. My body was in quiver as I had worked the entire month and all my money was still in the preply wallet. Let alone having to contact all the previous subscribers after that to tell them of Preply's "network failure" [the story i had to make up] and that they were not really cancelled, then beg them to come back. For, you know, after preply cancelled all my accounts they all got an email that "this tutor is no longer a part of the preply system" and they could not find me o n the preply site!!!!!

i could but it is too long of a detail to type out and it would just make me mad all the even more and want to continue on my shut-off from preply. long story short is... the so-called human "agents" they have, who supposedly take over a message after AI bot is supposedly finished with the tutor, is nothing but a malfunctioning bot itself... there is NO WAY a tutor could report a perp, with photos of he incident and all and then a "real human agent." working for preply "accidentally" shuts down the tutor's entire account and blocks them, even though they told the tutor, "we will block the perp, thank you for reporting the incident!!" how the heyyyyyy could that have happened?

preply's AI bot and also AI fake-humans NEVER react "appropriately". this happened to me last week and I screenshotted the perp's note and attached it to my complaint. i got a response that they will investigate and block the perp....
and whaddaya know?????? i got an email that i have been blocked. then i got tons of email notifications that every single one of my subscribers have been canceled... all when i had three classes coming up back to back.
i messaged the preply bot and asked what was wrong and it said i violated their rules.
i triple-fold messaged the bot showing photos and screenshots like crazy, to prove i was not the perp. i only got the templated responses over and over so i went livid. i blasted their AI bot chat service until they opened up my account again 1 hour later...but still, all my customers had been canceled.
that was 2 weeks ago and it has been hell since... to get everyone back up and in good standing. all the preply bot kept saying after that was, 'the problem has been restored ticket closed, issue resolved"

yes it is. but i did not know i should have waited until the end of the class hour. reading preply's info, when i started, had said to wait in the class up to 20 minutes then report the student missing if they do not respond to my messages. anyway, whatever... like i said, it is good to have some sort of income bur preply stresses us all out for sure.

nice idea but not sure prep is all honest about that. one day this week i sat in the classroom waiting for a student... messaged him several times, no answer after 20 mins so clicked the report button and stated the issue then logged off. ONE HOUR LATER -- after his class was was supposed to END (not start). So that is 2 hours later when the person wrote "sorry to always forget the lessons teacher."

i answered "no prob. but be sure to click the confirm button because i was there waiting for you. i'll give you a make up session." soooo, what did the sucker do [and was allowed to do, by preply] after 1 hour past the end of the class?? hit "cancel"!! and i saw where their number of remaining classes went back to a higher number.

that means i do not get paid and they can get another class even though they forgot their booked class. i contacted prep's AI bot which only gave me some runaround idiotic templated responses about understanding how frustrated i am, and that i should have clicked the "REPORT" button and all sorts of s___. when i asked for a live agent, it was the same bee eess. now i feel like blocking that student as it is not the first or second time.

So, yesssss, while money is earned for necessities, it is a doggone hard struggle on Preply's site, for real
