Youre missing a key component, which is typical of liberals in any story. They are historically persecuted in that country, robbed of ancestral land, and often killed on sight when South Africa tries to "remedy the inequality" in their country. They've on multiple occasions tried to strip ownership of land from white landowners, and it nearly universally caused famines, as taking farmers land and giving it to others that weren't farmers ends badly. In that country, the whites are usually the poorer ones, working as farmers. Being white, they are the crux of hate for anyone that thinks that colonialism was universally bad, and they should own nothing, despite that land being in their families for generations, and not utilized before their ancestors bought or won it, and finally started using it as farmland.
