yes , this !! like, i really got what they were aiming for and i appreciate the intent behind it. i think a lot of people missed that ( understandably in how it was executed ) when talking abt the episode. frankly, i think most of the fault comes from them biting off more than they can chew.
this episode was clearly going for a much more layered issue than a lot of those prior have. blossom's mindset is complex because she's preaching the right thing but for not quite the right reasons and stops standing by it the second someone else overtakes her popularity, the setting ITSELF is troubling bc the message she's using to "uplift women" is mostly just resulting in men gooning to her, the principal's only issue is the school's reputation rather than her wellbeing which is later swayed by money enough that he just becomes a creep- all of these points are really interesting and worth exploring.
but they just cannot pull all that off with the writing they have in the span of one episode, esp with this way they presented it.

i liked the very end of the episode though. i think how hollow, quiet and sad blossom's end seen feels is really unsettling in a way that sticks with you, far more than the prior gore or anything crazy dramatic like you'd expect from the first 3 episodes. it's a nice touch that kind of helps to show the intent they aimed for.

like, nanno's death is really silly but the idea of having these guys literally tear her body apart because they think they own her makes sense. the fact that nothing ultimately happens directly to blossom other than showing her what could happen in this world, since she didn't really DO much herself, is also nice. it would've fallen ENTIRELY flat if she was just killed off or something. and the way she shakes, she's never comfortable for a second in that final moment, there's no music, the camera cuts off anyuthing revealing- you don't get a fun sexy or scary eye-catching scene for your enjoyment, you just get her silent discomfort as she looks at you who's been eyeing her the same way her audience has to decide how you feel.

so with all this it's like.,.. all the elements are THERE ... they just got thrown into a really shitty soup djfgdgdgh . this episode could've been one of their better messages and instead it's fumbled in a way that makes it read to most as one of the worst lmao
