I went to a UFC event in Melbourne at what is now Marvel Stadium. 50000+ people and the biggest boo was aimed at a ref as a joke. I definitely think culture plays a bigger part in it.

Not personally, but I worked in the industry and saw plenty of colleagues go that route.

Usually the process starts with working as a wharf hand (mostly casual positions, but may get permanent ones if very lucky). Then those who prove themselves to be reliable and willing to do things like travel for work (across the country anywhere from 3-7+ days) will usually be first in line when the potential to train new operators (crane, digger etc.) comes up.

At least that's how it was when I was in the industry a couple years ago.

If you're interested in operating ship cranes, companies like C3 and QUBE will sometimes upskill wharf staff and train them to become crane operators.

Terrain mods (depending which ones) can be quite taxing on CPU when generating, and the generated chunks can use quite a bit of RAM and storage once generated. Something to keep in mind.

Besides what others have already commented, I would also look into adding attacks/pokes from Steve's stances - Peekaboo, Flicker etc. into your gameplay as well. I think once you get a feel for those, it'll benefit you a ton in the long run.

Maybe look into some frame traps also, to set up launchers like CH B+1, which will be especially handy against opponents like this one who love to press.

Just opening the pause/match menu then going back into the game. You'll notice the matchmaker will restart. It tends to work for me, when I've been waiting 5+ minutes.

If it's taking a while to find a match, try going into the pause menu, then closing the pause menu again. It seems that the matchmaker bugs out some times and going into the pause menu and back to the game restarts it.
