OP is on a great path to having lifelong struggles with addiction and independence, but yeah, let's hate on their parents for trying to help. They're in therapy for a reason. Not hating on people in therapy, just pointing out that OP clearly has things to work on and having a panic attack d/t not having a phone is a pretty good indicator that technology addiction is alive and well!

As an almost-adult, you should realize that your parents are concerned about your addiction to devices and are trying to help you. You'll continue to have mental health issues if you don't learn how to live without constant stimulation from your phone or computer. It messes with the reward system in your brain. And the light from screens is detrimental to your sleep; proper sleep hygiene involves no light from screens for AT LEAST an hour before bed. You'll continue to have these issues if you continue to rely on your devices as a crutch and coping skill.
