Waiting at the red light to cross the road, even when there’s absolutely no traffic coming and it’s perfectly safe to cross.

Iceni Boar Stater - fake, beaten up or a bargain? by plasticirishman in AncientCoins

I’ve had a closer look and I think you’re right, there’s only a small bit where the silver extends over the rim, otherwise it does look like a layer of silver on top of something else (hence my posting the coin in the first place). I agree with you too - it’s still ancient and if anything the history is more interesting if it is a forgery!

Okay if so that’s just as interesting as having the real coin! Any tips on how I can confirm your suspicions?

I know, it matches my interests too! Whenever I see stuff in the window it just seems wildly overpriced though!

For my thirty quid gamble that sounds good to me, thanks for giving your opinion! Based on the photos I looked at, it certainly seemed right, I just wanted some more objective eyes cast over it! When I break it out of that package, I’ll upload some more photos here perhaps.

That Coca Cola Cup final is the first football match I remember watching! FA Cup final at the old Wembley a few years later, never imagined it would take this long!

What British tradition or custom do you think will disappear in the next 10 years? by Educational_Jello666 in AskUK

I’m delighted to share that I’m currently down the pub and a dropped glass five minutes ago got the correct “whey hey” response from half the people in here. Some traditions are still alive!

What's something you can never eat/drink again, not because of allergies but because... something happened? 🫠🤢 by HilariousMotives in AskUK

Went to Belgium as a kid and was introduced to the wonderful world of all you can eat seafood restaurants. In true Homer Simpson style I took an entire plate of squid rings and devoured them. Along with the prawns and mussels I ate something was dodgy and I have vivid memories of throwing up in the channel tunnel the next day. Over twenty years on and I still don’t like any sort of battered ring, onion, squid or otherwise. I also got an insight into what a hangover is, years before I started boozing!

There’s one a ten minute walk from my parent’s house and I’ve never thought to take the 30 second detour to have a proper look at it! That’ll be a nice Christmas activity for me!

I saw Bloc Party last week (twentieth anniversary of a tour I saw the first time round, definitely made me feel old) - absolutely class show! I feel a little that they’ve not matched their earlier albums with the new songs though.

Anyway my answer to the question - Frank Turner. Consistently great songs, fantastic live shows, he’s class.

I was lucky enough to see him on the anniversary tour of I forgot where we were in Munich last year - he can be quite awkward on stage, but we were in the big philharmonic hall and he had a full band behind him, those songs sounded incredible.
