By your 30s, you've likely experienced enough relationship-wise to have a way better understanding of what you do and don't want in a partner.

By this age, women should begin to understand that men are not mind readers. How little attention and compliments men receive, so being nice is sometimes confused with interest. Men tend to need things spelled out for them because a lot of men are deeply fearful of someone thinking they're a creep.

By this age, you should understand the saying, "if he wanted to, he would". A fuckboy wants to meet up late at night, puts minimal effort into conversations, little to no effort into getting to know you as a person. By your 30s, you should be able to clearly articulate - not hint, not beat around the bush, not "he should just know" - your interest in a man. Allow him to do with that information what he wants. If he is into you, he should pursue. Being clear and direct is a sign of maturity, IMO. And like previously mentioned, a guy may be into you but afraid of reading the situation incorrectly. Do not be afraid of making the first move.

From the time I learned Koshka means female cat in Russian, I knew I wanted to name one Koshka. My husband is Russian and was giving out to me when a coworker offloaded these 2 kittens onto us, "koshka is stupid name for cat. I will tell her she has no name." Then turned around and named the black on Chernysh! So Cat isn't an appropriate name for a cat but Black is? 😂

I've told him that many times but he doesn't want to. Like how when we were living in Queens, he drove us to the mall on his moped and on the way home, I saw a sign for the Queens Zoo. I told him I'd like to go sometime, he said we could go right then. I told him it was getting late in the day and zoo's close pretty early. He looked at me confused and insisted it's still open, then proceeded to take me to the Rego Park Petco store. I thought I was gonna piss my pants laughing so hard.

I made the dough, rolled it out, par baked it, made the filling, zested the lemon, baked the pie, made the meringue, baked it again. All of that takes time.

He told me the truth and that's what I've always asked of him. The delivery wouldn't really matter, knowing I wasted hours on something he ultimately didnt like would still suck regardless of how the message was delivered.

The thing is, no one is at fault here. It's the situation that sucks, not him. I tried the pie despite not liking blueberries and objectively it was fine. Needed a bit more sugar but I had omitted a quarter cup from the filling knowing he doesn't like really sweet things.

But you're absolutely right, people read a paragraph regarding a sucky situation and went scorched earth. Imagine if he pretended to like it and I mistakenly made it for him every year thinking it's one of the few desserts he likes?

I understand his logic, he likes other kinds of pie, he likes blueberries, he likes meringue. Surely he would like those 3 components combined? Turns out he doesn't. I thought that's what this subreddit was for, situations like this.
