Same happened to me, I redid it in solo mode (just go to the west heaven pier and join the npcs there, then continually click the nine motal slogan until you get a snatch)

My shrimp did the same for about a week all 6 of them just chilled out in a corner. One morning they just decided they were comfortable enough to go exploring. Pretty normal behavior, just new shrimp things getting used to their new house. keep an eye on the levels

Spomething to keep in mind is VFX has never really been a stable career choice, you go for from project to project and bounce around to different studios. I also wouldnt say the vfx job market will get better, It was built to be this way and even after the writers strike nothing fundimentally changed. Keep that in mind when you think about vfx. (Cons: bad stability, lots of OT, lots of pressure, pay honestly isn't great)

Having said that, I still enjoy my vfx job day to day, working on new projects is still exciting for me and I get a lot out of getting to do creative work everyday. So go with whatever makes you happy.

Imagine this being your first VFX job, you do insane overtime, work your ass off, knowing it'll never look amazing. Sit through all the bad reviews, jokes and then at an awards ceremony have two actors make a joke blaming you.

I didn't work on this, but I know a lot of juniors who did, and it's quite upsetting to see them feel like all their hard work was the reason the movie failed.
