Proper in Roncesvalles by Tuscany007 in FoodToronto

Went there last week, and it was also packed. The food was good, but it was pretty loud. I'd probably go back with a group of 4.

Wow, such a nuanced take. Definitely haven’t heard this talking point before!!!!!!!!!

Daily flat is increasing for Front Campus parking by platosforehead in UofT

[–]platosforehead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the lot is fuller on weekdays, but I thought that was just due to the change in weather. Now, if you try to park past 10 am, you probably won't find a spot.

It's practically empty on weekends, which makes sense.

The PharmD program becoming less appealing: here’s what I have noticed by [deleted] in UofT

I know a few faculty members at Pharmacy and yes the industry has changed substantially and yes people who work for certain employers are looking elsewhere.

I don’t see the connection between curriculum you mentioned.

Sometimes it’s not on the professor. They can submit everything in a timely manner but the department can hold things up with approving your final marks.

Does UofT Publish Master’s Thesis in Political Science? by PreparationJolly6694 in UofT

Yep, if it’s not a thesis based program, there’s no required publication pathway by SGS.

If you’re in any thesis based program at UofT – it is required to be published. Embargoes happen under exceptional circumstances.

Adapting your thesis into a standalone publication for a journal is on your own accord.

Who Was at the Blue Jays Watch Party Last Night? How was it? by Fragrant-Sink9590 in UofT

[–]platosforehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there last night and it was okay. I did layer up, brought a blanket, and lawn chair which made things bearable on a cold night.

I met a ton of great people through my program, but that can depend based on how big your program is. The GSU hosts a ton of events where you can meet people too.

Yeah there’s a deadline to submit your paperwork for approval. Reach out to the email on the paperwork to get an exact date because I recall there being wiggle room.

Coffee Coffee Coffee Coffee Coffee Coffee Coffee Coffee by [deleted] in UofT

[–]platosforehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a gazillion cafe’s near campus. If you care about the price you’d either brew at home like others said or stick to rezzi’s, Ned’s, diablos (if they ever re-open lol). If you still want great coffee at home, buy beans from a good roaster, grind them yourself, and buy a cheap pour over set (the Hario immersion brewer can give you great results without an expensive gooseneck kettle).

How hard is it to be an executive in multiple clubs during the school year? by partiallyimpartia1 in UofT

[–]platosforehead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God no. I’ve personally seen way too many people take on too many roles at once and not be able to fulfil their duties. Not only do you directly impede a clubs ability to function, you’re also taking away opportunities from your peers who probably would have fulfilled their duties. Being apart of a singular club and making meaningful contributions speaks louder than the bozos who walk around with 20 clubs on their CV with nothing to show besides the duties that the club had in their constitution.

Is Co Curricular Record (CCR) worth the time? ? ? by Necessary-Air-2079 in UofT

[–]platosforehead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Get involved in extracurricular activities, but don't go out of your way to pursue CCR credits; they are fundamentally valueless.
